About the Role

The Senior HR Specialist – Shared Services (APAC) is a senior HR professional responsible for supporting and coordinating HR Shared Services operations for a diverse APAC employee population (supporting Headcount of approx. 600) — including Malaysia, India, Australia, Korea, and EOR jurisdictions such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand.

This role ensures HR data quality, compliance with local employment practices, coordinated escalation of employment matters, and consistent delivery of HR services across these markets. The position is based in India and collaborates with HR Business Partners, Shared Services, Legal, payroll, and external partners to provide seamless HR service delivery and risk-aware governance.

Responsibilities:

HR Shared Services & Data Governance

  • Ensure accurate HR lifecycle data in the HRIS (e.g., Workday) for all APAC employees and contractors, including statutory requirements in each country.

  • Oversee the quality and integrity of HR transactions processed via global shared services, external payroll partners, or vendors.

  • Act as a regional escalation point for HR operational issues, data discrepancies, and service quality gaps.

  • Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), control processes, and knowledge artifacts tailored to APAC requirements and manage the change management

  • Run periodic data audits to check data quality and identify & fix the process gaps for continuous improvement.

Employee & Manager Support

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for employees and people leaders across APAC on HR policy questions, procedural guidance, and HRIS issues.

  • Triage employee and manager inquiries to appropriate resolution pathways — shared services execution, HRBP, Legal, or external advisors — with clear expectations and timelines.

  • Provide practical guidance for performance management, statutory leave, mobility, and other HR processes in line with local practices and global standards.

  • Support onboarding, role changes, offboarding, and transitions across APAC markets with a consistent, compliant experience.

Employment Matters & Compliance Coordination

  • Monitor employment-related matters arising across APAC, ensuring appropriate involvement of HRBPs and Legal where issues involve risk or sensitive concerns.

  • Handle routine, low-risk workplace matters autonomously when appropriate; escalate medium- to high-risk situations with recommended next steps and context.

  • Ensure employment matters and outcomes are properly documented, tracked, and closed, supporting governance, audit readiness, and trend analysis.

  • Stay current on local statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., employment contracts, statutory benefits, leave laws, and EOR compliance practices) relevant to HR delivery across the region.

Reporting, Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Produce regular HR reporting including headcount, data quality, inquiry volumes, case trends, and operational KPIs

  • Analyze data to identify risk areas, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvements, and partner with Shared Services and HRIS teams to drive enhancements.

  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of HR Shared Services delivery standards, knowledge management, and workflow design in APAC.

What we are looking for:

Required Skills:

Experience & Domain Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced HR certifications are a plus.

  • Typically 8+ years of progressive experience in HR Shared Services, HR Operations, or regional HR roles supporting multiple countries in APAC.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting cross-border HR operations with an understanding of various local labor practices and compliance requirements across APAC.

  • Experience partnering with global HR Shared Services teams, local HR partners, payroll vendors, and Legal.

Language & Communication

  • Fluent English (written and verbal); additional language proficiency relevant to APAC markets is an advantage.

  • Strong communication skills with sensitivity to multicultural stakeholders and global HR partners.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred), including data governance, reporting, and audit support.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate HR data into insights for operational and governance purposes.

  • Familiarity with case management tools (Service Now preferred), ticketing workflows, and service-level management concepts common in shared services.

How You’ll Stand Out

  • Practical, solution-oriented operator who balances autonomy with sound escalation judgment

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across diverse cultures and jurisdictions.

  • Organized and detail-oriented with a strong adherence to compliance and data quality.

  • Comfortable navigating complex, matrixed environments and prioritizing across multiple markets with differing statutory requirements.

Role Benefits & Impact:

  • Regional influence: Support and shape how HR Shared Services operates across APAC for a public-facing business.

  • Career growth: Broaden HR operational and governance exposure across diverse statutory contexts

  • Deep partnership: Work closely with HR Business Partners, Shared Services, Legal, and global HR functions to drive operational excellence.

If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
