G6 \u2013 Hypervisor Administrator (Senior L1 / L1.5) \nRole Summary \nG6 engineers handle complex troubleshooting, perform deep diagnostics, support high severity incidents, validate L2/L3 changes, and guide junior resources. \nKey Responsibilities \n\u2022 Perform advanced troubleshooting on VMware \u0026 Hyper V: \no ESXi host isolation/PSOD analysis \no vCenter service issues \no DRS/HA failover problems \no VM performance bottlenecks (storage I/O, CPU co-stop, NUMA alignment) \n\u2022 Perform advanced datastore and storage troubleshooting: \no Multipath issues \no Datastore latency \no NFS/iSCSI mount failures \n\u2022 Validate changes implemented by L2/L3 (pre/post checks). \n\u2022 Support cluster level operations: \no HA/DRS configuration validation \no Host maintenance mode validations \no Resource pool and folder permission checks \n\u2022 Troubleshoot Virtual Networking: \no vSwitch/dvSwitch issues \no VLAN tagging mismatch \no Port group misconfiguration \n\u2022 Identify recurring problems and raise RCA based Problem Tickets. \n\u2022 Lead communication during outages affecting virtualization clusters. \n\u2022 Contribute to runbooks, automation improvements, and SOP creation. \n\u2022 Mentor G4/G5 engineers and ensure quality of escalations.\n\n \nSkills Required \n\u2022 3\u20135+ years of virtualization experience in VMware / Hyper V. \n\u2022 Expertise in ESXi, vCenter, virtual switches, storage connectivity, clustering concepts. \n\u2022 Strong command-line skills (esxcli, PowerShell/PowerCLI). \n\u2022 Understanding of DR concepts (SRM optional), HA/DRS logs, vSAN basics. \n\u2022 Preferred: VMware VCP DCV, Microsoft Hyper V certification.\n
