A customer\u2011first approach, cost\u2011efficient decision making, and proven experience transforming prototypes into robust, production\u2011ready industrial solutions are essential.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLinux Platform \u0026 Upstream Leadership\n\n * Define and lead mainline alignment, upstreaming strategies, and branch lifecycle management across mainline, LTS, and stable trees.\n * Oversee open\u2011source compliance, release coordination, and adherence to Qualcomm\u2019s Linux\u2011first execution strategy.\n * Ensure predictable upstream refresh cadences across kernel, Yocto, and Debian/Ubuntu ecosystems\n\n\n\nDistro Enablement \u0026 Ecosystem Integration\n\n * Drive end\u2011to\u2011end enablement across Yocto, Debian, and Ubuntu distributions, including graphics, multimedia, AI/ML, connectivity, robotics, and industrial frameworks.\n * Champion developer\u2011first workflows, upstream\u2011friendly integration practices, and clear, high\u2011quality open\u2011source documentation.\n\n\n\nProductization \u0026 Industrial IoT Solution Readiness\n\n * Convert platform capabilities and prototypes into stable, repeatable, production\u2011grade industrial IoT solutions.\n * Integrate key industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, EtherCAT, Profinet, MQTT, CoAP, etc.) into platform roadmaps and solution blueprints.\n * Drive cost\u2011optimized decision making across feature sets, cloud usage, and hardware/software selections.\n\n\n\nCustomer Engagement \u0026 Solutions Engineering\n\n * Maintain strong customer focus\u2014translate customer needs into actionable, prioritized engineering workflows.\n * Lead solution prototyping, PoCs, and integration efforts by coordinating across functional teams.\n * Deliver developer\u2011grade documentation, solution guides, and production\u2011ready reference implementations.\n\n\n\nCross\u2011Functional Program Leadership\n\n * Manage large cross\u2011functional execution spanning kernel, multimedia, Android, connectivity, user space, and partner teams that includes the HW platform teams.\n * Own schedules, milestone alignment, dependency mapping, risk management, and executive communications.\n * Ensure Linux\u2011first, developer\u2011first discipline across the entire engineering pipeline.\n\n\n\nQuality, Testing \u0026 Automation Excellence\n\n * Drive strong pre\u2011merge validation, CI/CD health, and continuous testing coverage across mainline and LTS branches.\n * Track quality regressions across features, drive closure with partner teams, and uphold production\u2011readiness KPIs.\n\n\n\nQualifications \u0026 Experience\n\nRequired\n\n * 10\u201315+ years of leadership experience within embedded Linux/Kernel/Yocto/Open\u2011Source ecosystems.\n * Deep understanding of: \n * Upstream Linux development workflows (maintainers, linux\u2011next, LTS/stable branches).\n * Kernel branching models, mainline alignment, Yocto/OE pipelines, and Debian/Ubuntu packaging and workflows.\n * Open\u2011source contribution processes (patch submission, review cycles, Gerrit/Git workflows).\n * Demonstrated success managing complex, multi\u2011disciplinary engineering programs.\n * Exceptional communication skills and strong stakeholder management with a risk\u2011driven decision mindset.\n\n\n\nPreferred\n\n * Experience with industrial IoT systems, industrial protocols, or Linux\u2011based industrial platforms.\n * Background in prototyping, customer\u2011facing engineering, or productizing industrial IoT software stacks.\n * Strong documentation and developer ecosystem orientation.\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. \n\u2022 4+ years of Program Management or related work experience.\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
