Must Have Skills :

ØStrong knowledge of medical terminology,
 anatomy, and physiology.

ØProficient in electronic health records
 (EHR) and coding software .

ØKnowledge of compliance regulations
 including HIPAA, CMS, and NCCI edits.
  

Good to Have Skills :

ØHigh attention to detail and analytical thinking.

ØAbility to work independently and meet
 productivity/accuracy benchmarks.
 

Roles and Responsibilities :

Inpatient Coding Duties:

lReview and analyze patient records fo
r complete and accurate documentation.

lAssign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
 for diagnoses and procedures.

lEnsure coding compliance with federal
 regulations, payer policies, and facility
guidelines.

lApply knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related
 Group) assignment for accurate
 reimbursement.

lCollaborate with clinical staff for clarification
 on documentation when needed.

Outpatient Coding Duties:

lReview outpatient clinical documentation
 (e.g., ER, same-day surgeries, clinic visits).

lAssign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
 accurately.

lUnderstand and apply Outpatient Prospective
 Payment System (OPPS) and APCs.

lEnsure accurate coding for multiple service
 types including diagnostics,
 procedures, and therapy.
