Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Analyst Applications to join India GCC - Enterprise Distributed Database Services-CAT IT Division.

The incumbent would designs, develops, and implements enterprise data platform solutions with a focus on security, performance optimization, automation, and data engineering. Ensures reliable, scalable, and efficient data operations leveraging Snowflake, Python-based automation, and modern analytics frameworks.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore PSN Office, KA-India

What you will do

• Implements and manages enterprise security controls including RBAC, data masking policies, and MFA authentication.
•  Develops and automates monitoring solutions using Python for Snowflake workloads and integrates with ServiceNow for incident management.
• Designs, develops, and maintains data engineering components such as stored procedures, streams, tasks, views, and dynamic tables.
• Builds and optimizes data pipelines, including solutions that bypass traditional ETL processes for efficient data ingestion.
• Enhances query performance by implementing dynamic tables, query acceleration services, and performance tuning techniques.
• Architects data resilience solutions using Time Travel, Fail-safe, and Data Sharing features for recovery and collaboration.
• Establishes resource monitoring frameworks to track warehouse utilization and generate alerts for critical usage thresholds.
• Develops dashboards and analytics solutions to monitor warehouse utilization, performance metrics, and operational efficiency.
• Creates visualization and self-service tools (e.g., Streamlit applications) to analyze query usage and performance insights.
• Supports troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of data platform issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance data platform capabilities and drive continuous improvement.

 What you will have 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.
• Shift Timing:01:00PM -10:00PM IST

Cloud Data Platforms (Snowflake Ecosystem)
Level Extensive Experience:
• Implements and manages Snowflake features including dynamic tables, streams, tasks, and secure data sharing.
• Applies advanced concepts such as Time Travel, Fail-safe, and Snowflake performance optimization techniques.
• Designs scalable and high-performing data warehouse architectures.
• Optimizes warehouse performance and storage usage for cost efficiency.
• Supports enterprise-scale data operations with high availability and reliability.

Security & Data Governance
Level Working Knowledge:
• Implements security models such as RBAC and data masking policies.
• Supports authentication mechanisms including MFA and secure access frameworks.
• Ensures compliance with enterprise data governance policies and standards.
• Identifies access risks and recommends mitigation strategies.

• Develops stored procedures, streams, tasks, and views for data processing.
• Designs and implements efficient data ingestion pipelines.
• Applies advanced SQL and procedural programming techniques.
• Builds scalable data transformation solutions.
• Supports Customer 360 and enterprise data initiatives.

Automation & Scripting (Python)
Level Working Knowledge:
• Develops automation scripts for monitoring and operational workflows.
• Integrates systems with platforms such as ServiceNow for alerting and incident handling.
• Automates repetitive operational processes to improve efficiency.
• Builds utilities and tools for data platform optimization.
• Enhances system observability through automated metrics collection.

Performance Optimization
Level Extensive Experience:
• Analyzes query performance and identifies optimization opportunities.
• Implements query acceleration techniques and tuning strategies.
• Improves system efficiency through workload balancing and query rewriting.
• Designs high-performance data models and structures.
• Monitors system metrics to continuously enhance performance.

Data Recovery & Resilience
Level Working Knowledge:
• Utilizes Time Travel and Fail-safe features for data recovery.
• Supports troubleshooting and recovery of data-related issues.
• Implements data sharing and backup strategies.
• Ensures reliability and continuity of data systems.
• Assists in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Monitoring & Cost Optimization
Level Working Knowledge:
• Implements resource monitors to track warehouse utilization.
• Defines thresholds and alerting mechanisms for cost control.
• Analyzes usage trends to optimize resource allocation.
• Supports cost optimization initiatives for cloud data platforms.
• Provides insights for improving system efficiency and reducing spend.

Analytics & Visualization
Level Working Knowledge:
• Designs dashboards to monitor performance and operational metrics.
• Develops data visualization solutions for business users.
• Creates tools such as Streamlit apps for data insights and reporting.
• Supports decision-making through actionable analytics.
• Enhances data visibility across stakeholders.

System Integration
Level Working Knowledge:
• Integrates Snowflake with external tools such as Qlik and ServiceNow.
• Supports data synchronization and replication processes.
• Maintains interfaces between data platforms and applications.
• Works with multiple technologies and integration patterns.
• Ensures seamless flow of data across systems.

Problem Solving
Level Working Knowledge:
• Identifies and resolves data platform performance and operational issues.
• Analyzes root causes and proposes effective solutions.
• Uses diagnostic tools and monitoring systems to troubleshoot problems.
• Collaborates with teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Continuously improves processes for operational efficiency.

System Testing & Validation
Level Working Knowledge:
• Validates data pipelines, transformations, and database changes.
• Executes test cases for performance and data accuracy.
• Supports system testing and validation for new implementations.
• Ensures data quality and reliability across systems.
• Participates in performance and recovery testing scenarios.
