IT Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Description -

We are seeking to hire an IT Infrastructure Automation Engineer who brings strong expertise in infrastructure automation and orchestration.  The IT Infrastructure Automation Engineer is responsible for automating the full lifecycle for server, storage, backup, and patching.  This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to standards, ensuring maximum productivity for IT staff and users.

Responsibilities

·         Configure and maintain the automation platform infrastructure (AWX, AAP, etc.)

·         Develop and maintain automation playbooks to deliver and maintain the end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle

·         Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating to infrastructure automation

·         Work with database and application teams to gather requirements for new projects and expansion to existing automation capabilities

·         Provide functional or program leadership by acting as a team representative to multi-functional projects

·         Provide operational support for automation issues - on call as needed (24/365).

Education & Experience Recommended

Qualifications

·         B.Sc. in Computer Science, IS/IT or equivalent education and/or experience.

·         5+ years of experience creating automation workflows in one or more of the following: Ansible, AWS SSM, ServiceNow, Terraform

·         Scripting skills using Python and/or Shell.

·         Familiarity with HPE Blades/Synergy or similar X86 hardware

·         Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred)

·         Familiarity with HPE Storage, and Brocade SAN equipment.

·         Working knowledge of ancillary services / tools such as LDAP, mail relay (postfix, sendmail), remote console services

·         Working knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite (e.g., ARP, IP, TCP, DNS, UDP, and SNMP) and associated operating system tools (snoop, tcpdump, traceroute, etc.).

·         Experience certifying, installing, configuring, and updating middleware (JBOSS, WebLogic, Tomcat, etc.)

·         Operational experience with AWS Cloud and AWS SSM for Systems management
