Position: IT Infrastructure Manager
Location: Bangalore
Experience required: 8-15 years
Job description:
- Local systems, local users Dimensioning and selection of local IT equipment within centrally published HARTING standards
- Procure, install, configure, and maintain local desktop hardware including pro-duction IT hardware, operating system, application software (via MCM)
- Procure and operate IT equipment for conference rooms
- Procure local server and LAN hardware
- Install, run and maintain local server systems (physical and virtual) and applications including fileservers and DBMS
- Procure and handle Small Mobile Devices (SMD) like cell phones, iPhones, iPads and similar
- Troubleshooting for computers, printers, local network appliances
- Responsibility on local IT-related technical infrastructure (partially): power supply, air condition, physical access.
- Responsible for Backup and Restore for local desktop and server systems
- Keep local IT security systems up to date
- Taking care for local and globally advised IT security systems like virus scanners, secured remote connections and so on
- Other operational regular doings (daily checks…)
- Create and maintain user accounts
- First level user-support for several on premise and/or cloud-based office applications
- Working in a national multisite IT environment
- Organize and occasionally conduct trainings on IT Infrastructure for users if needed
Required Experience:
- 8–12 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, System Administration, or IT Operations.
- Experience supporting enterprise users in a multi-site environment.
- Experience working with global or international IT teams.
- Hands-on expertise in server, desktop, and networking technologies.
- Experience managing IT incidents, requests, and infrastructure projects.
IT Education
- Preferably professional IT education or similar qualification (Degree in science)
- Preferably owning a Microsoft certificate (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP …) or similar qualification.
- Several years of experience in professional IT
- Worked for larger departments or teams of IT users
- Preferably having worked in an international company
- Experienced with Desktop HW-equipment (e.g. DELL PCs, printers …)
- Professional desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11)
- Microsoft Office applications (Office Professional 2016, Office 365 Pro Plus, M365)
- Smartphones etc. (iOS), telephony
- Server equipment (e.g. DELL), storage units, UPS
- Server operating systems (Windows Server 2016 and newer)
- Microsoft Active Directory, domain and user administration, rights management
- Server based computing (Terminal Services, Citrix …)
- Setup and maintenance of several server systems
- IP based networking
- Install and maintain network equipment (Manageable switches, routers, fire-wall equipment, WiFi)
- Current releases of Microsoft SQL Server or other SQL database
Centrally managed systems:
- Assistance and collaboration in centrally organised IT projects
- Local counterpart for central IT in daily doing, monitoring and so on
- Cooperate with central IT teams (International Coordination, DataCentre, Network & Security and others)
- Maintain WAN-node on advice
- Collaborate with local service providers
- Pre-qualify IT problems and questions
- Maintain centrally provided ticket- asset management-systems etc.
Organisational tasks at individual location:
- Report to local Management and central IT department
- Supra-local responsibilities in the case of multiple sites
- Leadership task for employees
- Ensuring and further developing local and central IT processes
- Communicate IT IS issues in local company
- Guarantee the legally compliant status of IT IS equipment (SW licenses…)
- Prepare input for local IT Budget
- Take care on local expenses for IT
- Transfer of local IT needs to central IT, define requirements and transfer recommendations
- Ensure data privacy and protection of HARTING Intellectual Property
- Ensure IT security rules
- Contact partner for local and international IT service providers
- Responsible for keeping IT standards
- Keep relevant IT maintenance contracts up to date
