Jr Security Analyst - 0 -2Yrs

A Junior Security Analyst is responsible for assisting in protecting an organization’s computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, analyzing security incidents, and supporting senior security team members in maintaining a secure IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Monitor security alerts and logs from security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
   


2. Investigate and respond to security incidents and potential threats.
   


3. Assist in performing penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and security scans.
   


4. Support implementation of security policies, procedures, and controls.
   


5. Analyze suspicious activities and escalate incidents when necessary.
   


6. Help maintain and update security documentation and reports.
   


7. Assist with patch management and system updates.
   


8. Support compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
   


9. Participate in security awareness initiatives within the organization.
   

Required Skills:

1.  Basic understanding of network security and cybersecurity concepts
   


2. Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint security
   


3. Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus systems(Trend Micro, Sophos Firewall, Kali Linux, Tenable Nessus)
   


4. Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and Cloud platforms(AWS, GCP, Azure)
   


5. Basic knowledge of incident response procedures
   


6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
   


7. Good communication and documentation skills
