Junior LLVM Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior LLVM Backend Engineer to join our compiler engineering team. In this role, you will work on backend components of the compiler toolchain targeting custom hardware architectures. You will get an opportunity to work closely with experienced compiler engineers on LLVM IR transformations, instruction selection, and backend optimizations to improve generated code quality and performance.

This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in Compiler Design, C/C++, and systems programming who are looking to build expertise in LLVM and compiler backend development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining LLVM backend components for custom or existing target architectures.
  
• Support implementation and enhancement of instruction selection, code generation, and target -specific optimizations.
  
• Work on LLVM IR -level transformations and optimization passes under guidance from senior engineers.
  
• Analyze generated assembly/code to identify performance improvements and optimization opportunities.
  
• Debug compiler -related issues across different stages of the compilation flow.
  
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to understand architecture -specific requirements.
  
• Contribute to testing, validation, and benchmarking of compiler features and optimizations.
  
• Learn and contribute to LLVM -based development workflows and internal compiler infrastructure.
  

Skills Required

• Good understanding of Compiler Design fundamentals.
  
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
  
• Basic understanding of LLVM architecture and compiler pipelines.
  
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and operating system concepts.
  
• Exposure to assembly language or computer architecture concepts is a plus.
  
• Strong problem -solving and debugging skills.
  
• Willingness to learn and work on low -level systems and compiler technologies.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields.
  
• Academic/project experience in compilers, LLVM, operating systems, or systems programming.
  
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and build systems is an added advantage.
