Junior Tekla Checker

We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Junior Tekla Checker in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Our client is seeking skilled and motivated professionals with experience in Tekla-based structural steel detailing and quality checking. The role supports quality assurance by reviewing models and drawings, identifying discrepancies, coordinating corrections, and ensuring changes are accurately implemented. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in checking Tekla models and structural steel drawings against project requirements.
  
• Review models and drawings for errors, inconsistencies, omissions, and missing information.
  
• Verify that identified corrections have been implemented accurately.
  
• Maintain detailed model and drawing comment logs for quality tracking.
  
• Coordinate required corrections with modelers and steel detailers.
  
• Review revised deliverables to ensure comments have been properly addressed.
  
• Support quality initiatives aimed at reducing recurring detailing and modeling errors.
  
• Maintain accuracy and consistency in checking documentation throughout the project workflow.
  

Required Skills

1. Tekla Structures: Practical exposure to reviewing Tekla models and associated drawings.
   
2. Structural Steel Detailing: Strong understanding of structural steel detailing principles and workflows.
   
3. Model & Drawing Checking: Ability to identify discrepancies, omissions, and inconsistencies in project deliverables.
   
4. Australian Steel Detailing: Exposure to Australian steel detailing projects and related project workflows.
   
5. Quality Documentation: Ability to maintain accurate checking comments, revision records, and documentation.
   

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with structured QA/QC processes for structural steel detailing.
  
• Ability to recognize recurring detailing errors and support preventive improvements.
  
• Experience coordinating drawing and model corrections with modelers and detailers.
  

Work Experience Requirements

Candidates should have 2–4 years of exposure to Tekla models and drawings, with experience working within structural steel detailing workflows. Exposure to Australian steel detailing projects is required. Experience involving systematic model/drawing checking and correction coordination is particularly relevant.

Education

• Minimum: Typical qualification — Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
  
• Preferred: Typical — relevant structural engineering/detailing qualification
  
• Additional: Tekla Structures training/certification is advantageous
