Job Description - K1 Counselor

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 300000 - Rs 650000 (ie INR 3 - 6.5 LPA)

Min Experience: 2 years

Location: Mumbai

JobType: full-time

The K1 Counselor is responsible for managing the first stage of the undergraduate admissions funnel by converting prospective leads into admission test registrations and completed applications. This role focuses on driving the K1 metric, ensuring strong lead engagement, timely follow-ups, and a steady pipeline of qualified candidates for downstream enrollment teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Conversion & Funnel Management (K1 Stage)

  • Own the conversion of incoming leads into admission test registrations and application fee payments.
  • Ensure prompt outreach to all new leads through calls, WhatsApp, email, and automated follow-up journeys.
  • Drive consistent movement across the funnel: Lead → Registration → Test Participation.
  • Make high-volume outbound calls to engage, qualify, and convert prospective applicants.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for prospective candidates, providing accurate and detailed program information through phone, email, chat, and social platforms.
  • Meet and exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets related to registrations, applications, and revenue.

Relationship Management & Process Adherence

  • Maintain regular communication with prospects until successful onboarding.
  • Generate referrals from existing learners to strengthen the sales pipeline.
  • Adhere strictly to defined inside sales processes, tools, and CRM data standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all lead interactions and share actionable insights with the manager to improve conversion outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in inside sales, admissions counseling, or edtech/B2C sales.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume lead funnels, preferably in education or admissions environments.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and gain commitment from prospective candidates.
  • Excellent communication skills across phone, email, chat, and virtual interactions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility quickly.
