• Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or related field.


• ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) preferred.


• NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certifications will be an added advantage.

Job Summary

Konark Group is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Safety Officer to oversee Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities across construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all safety regulations, promote a strong safety culture across construction sites, and prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage through effective implementation of HSE practices. Experience in high-rise residential and commercial construction projects is preferred.

Key Responsibilities Safety Compliance & Monitoring

• Implement and monitor site safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.


• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across project sites.


• Ensure compliance with local labor laws, safety regulations, and company safety standards.


• Monitor and enforce proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by workers, contractors, and visitors.


• Ensure all construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved safety procedures.

Risk Assessment & Incident Management

• Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.


• Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments for critical site activities.


• Investigate accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions, and near-miss cases and prepare detailed reports.


• Track and ensure timely closure of safety observations and corrective action plans.


• Analyze incident trends and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.

Training & Awareness

• Conduct safety induction programs for new employees, contractors, and visitors.


• Organize toolbox talks, mock drills, and safety awareness campaigns on a regular basis.


• Promote a proactive safety culture through continuous engagement, communication, and coaching.


• Train site teams on emergency response procedures and safe work practices.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, incident logs, and statutory documents.


• Prepare periodic MIS reports on safety performance, observations, incidents, and compliance status.


• Coordinate with regulatory authorities, consultants, and auditors during inspections and audits.


• Ensure all safety documentation is updated and readily available for review.

Emergency Preparedness

• Ensure site readiness for emergencies including fire, medical, rescue, and evacuation situations.


• Conduct periodic emergency response drills and evaluate effectiveness.


• Maintain availability, functionality, and inspection records of firefighting and emergency equipment.


• Coordinate emergency response activities and ensure compliance with emergency management procedures.
