Educational Qualification:
Diploma in Computer Engineering / Information Technology from a recognized Board of Technical Education / University.
OR
Desirable: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Computer Science and Engineering from a recognized University / AICTE-approved Institution.
Work Experience :
Minimum two years of experience in relevant area of industry / educational institutions offering degree/diploma courses in Engineering.
Preference will be given to candidates having relevant experience in handling Computer Engineering laboratories in Engineering Colleges, Universities, Polytechnic Institutes, Research Organizations, IT Industry, or related technical organizations.
Job Description:
The Laboratory Assistant – Computer Engineering shall be responsible for supporting academic, laboratory, and technical activities of the Computer Engineering Department.
Assist faculty members and students during practical sessions, laboratory demonstrations, project work, and technical activities.
Prepare and maintain computer laboratory setups, systems, software environments, and required configurations for academic activities.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot:
Desktop computers and workstations
Operating systems
Application software
Programming environments
Database management systems
Networking equipment and peripherals
Support operation and maintenance of Computer Engineering laboratories including:
Programming Laboratory
Data Structures Laboratory
Database Management System Laboratory
Web Technology Laboratory
Computer Networks Laboratory
Operating Systems Laboratory
Software Engineering Laboratory
Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Laboratory
Cyber Security Laboratory
Project and Research Laboratories
Maintain laboratory infrastructure including:
Hardware inventory records
Software installation records
License details
System maintenance logs
Backup and recovery records
Provide technical support for students and faculty during laboratory sessions and project development activities.
Assist in installation, upgrading, and maintenance of computer systems, servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure.
Ensure proper functioning, security, and availability of laboratory systems.
Support departmental requirements related to accreditation documentation, laboratory audits, inspections, and institutional activities.
Follow IT security guidelines, data protection practices, and institutional policies.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department / Competent Authority related to departmental requirements.
