Laboratory Engineer

What you’ll do:

"Eaton - MTL has an opening for a Surge Lab Engineer. This position will be based in Chennai, India.

This role (Surge Lab Engineer) will be responsible for working in the Surge Labs and Testing the products manufactured and developed in Chennai for several standards."

"The candidate in this position will be responsible to:
- Work in the Surge Lab to test products to the compliance standards and work instructions.
- Maintain the equipment in a timely manner including calibration and preventive maintenance.
- Present the test reports for internal and external stakeholder as per the agreed timelines
- Maintain effective communications both verbal & written with suppliers, customer, team members and cross functional teams
- Provide technical guidance to the hardware engineer on the test severity. "    
 

Qualifications:

B.E/B.Tech in Electronics/ Electronics and Communications /Electrical & Electronics
2 years of experience in similar testing. 
 

Skills:

"•    Good Electronics basics and knowledge on the components and working principles.
•    Thorough understanding on the Surge Testing and the test equipment.
•    Working experience on EN 61643-11, EN 61643-21 and EN 61643-31.
•    Expertise on mechanical and thermal tests
•    Effectively report the results as per the requirements of the standards.
•    Good documentation and communication skills
•    Able to complete LVD assessment for Surge protection devices or similar product.
•    Good working knowledge on MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint"
