Lead Consultant - SAP RAR

JOB TITLE: Consultant - SAP S/4HANA RAR – Classic Functional Consultant

DEPARTMENT: SAP Delivery DES

Experience Required: 8 - 10 years

Shift: Willing to work in EST/ CST shift (till 2am IST)

Notice Period: Immediate to 30 days max

Role Summary

We are seeking a senior, hands‑on SAP S/4HANA RAR (Classic) Functional Consultant with deep functional expertise in revenue recognition. The role requires end‑to‑end ownership of SAP RAR solutions, advanced knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15, and the ability to work independently while leading complex discussions, testing, and business enablement activities across integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead end‑to‑end functional design and delivery of SAP RAR Classic on S/4HANA


• Operate fluently by contributing to design, integration, and issue resolution


• Design and help configure advanced RAR scenarios, including:
  
  
  
  • Complex Performance Obligations (POBs)
  
  
  • SSP calculations, list price management, and allocation methodologies
  
  
  • Event‑based revenue posting
  
  


• Lead analysis and testing of ASC 606 contract modifications, including prospective vs. retrospective scenarios


• Perform hands‑on user‑level testing, executing test cases independently and actively supporting UAT


• Lead and support end‑to‑end integration testing, preferably across SFDC → Apttus → SAP S/4HANA (SD / RAR)


• Deliver end‑user training and enablement on RAR functionality and system changes


• Act as a senior advisor to finance and revenue stakeholders, driving resolution of complex accounting and system issues


• Lead workshops, design reviews, and decision‑making forums with confidence and authority


• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong stakeholder alignment

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–10+ years SAP functional experience, with deep, hands‑on expertise in SAP RAR Classic


• Strong functional experience across SAP RAR and integrations


• Expert knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles


• Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA RAR (Classic) and OCM


• Strong integration experience with SAP SD and SAP FI (GL / AR)


• Advanced understanding of contract‑based revenue, multi‑element arrangements, variable consideration, and contract modifications


• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills


• Experience working in global or multi‑entity environments

Preferred

• End‑to‑end integration experience across SFDC, Apttus, SAP SD, and SAP RAR


• SAP Finance or RAR certification


• Experience in regulated or audit‑intensive environments
