Job Description - Lead data Management Analyst

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Management Analyst.


In this role, you will:

  • Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes

  • Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements

  • Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues

  • Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality

  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures

  • Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data

  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members

  • Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy

  • Serve as relationship manager for a line of business

  • Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility

  • Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies

  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field.
  • Extensive background in financial services (Commercial Banking domain).
  • 5+ years of experience with strong proficiency in SQL and Excel.
  • 5+ years of experience with data modelling, and data lineage
  • Proven expertise in data governance, data quality, and regulatory reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Hands-on JIRA, SharePoint and Confluence administration experience, including governance and automation.
  • Demonstrated program/PMO experience delivering data or regulatory initiatives in controlled environments, including RAID management and cross-functional dependency management.
  • Proficiency in portfolio/tools such as Jira (Advanced Roadmaps/Plans), MS Project or Smartsheet, and executive reporting (PowerPoint; Power BI or similar).


Job Expectations:

  • Experience in facilitating and hosting working group sessions with stakeholders.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery.
  • Knowledge/experience in AI Platforms such as Tachyon, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.
  • Familiarity with key regulations such as FR Y‑14Q, FR Y‑14M, BSA/AML, and FR 2052a, Sanction Screening, SBA Green Book, FDIC 370, CRA, OUS (Outside the United States) Exits Summary, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Control Centre, Enterprise Customer Risk Rating, QRM for FR 2052a and NSFR, Reg W Balance Report, including their data implications.
  • Experience leading projects, program and portfolio management and business process optimization, with a proven record of delivering against outcomes.
  • Familiarity with, KPI/OKR frameworks, and building data-driven delivery metrics.
  • Experience preparing materials for regulators, internal audit, risk committees, and senior executive forums.
  • RAID log, dependency map, decision log, and RACI.
  • Quarterly roadmap, and integrated project plan
  • Intake & prioritization framework and operating model/playbook.
