Lead Engineer - Structural Engineering

Job Summary

The Lead Structural Engineer will lead the structural design, analysis, and coordination of building projects from concept through construction. This role is responsible for ensuring structural systems are safe, efficient, code-compliant, and cost-effective. The engineer will work closely with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and contractors to deliver high-quality structural solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. 

Key Responsibilities (Financial)

• Perform structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures.


• Develop structural models using software such as ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, or similar tools.


• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.


• Ensure designs comply with local and international codes (e.g., IS codes, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, BS standards).


• Lead and coordinate structural engineering deliverables across multiple projects.


• Collaborate with architects, MEP teams, and other consultants to resolve design issues.


• Review and approve structural drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.


• Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and monitoring progress.


• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and structural inspections.


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and draftsmen.


• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sustainability standards.


• Review structural engineering documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Experience & Qualification

• 
  

  Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (preferred).

  
  


• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (mandatory)

• 
  

  10 –14 years of proven experience in structural design and engineering of building projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Demonstrated experience in mid- to large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use buildings.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, etc.).

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with BIM workflows (Revit Structure) is an advantage.
