## \nCompany:\n\nQualcomm India Private Limited\n\n## Job Area:\n\nEngineering Group, Engineering Group \u003e Software Engineering\n\nGeneral Summary:\n\nJob Summary:\n\nWe are looking for a Lead Engineer to design and build host\u2011side system tools and services that interface with SoCs across the full product lifecycle\u2014bring\u2011up, flashing, debugging, diagnostics, and production test.\n\nThis role suits an experienced systems engineer with strong expertise in C/C++, operating systems, transport protocols, and cross\u2011platform development, who can own complex tools used across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Design and develop robust host\u2011side services, daemons, and utilities that interface with SoCs\n * Build and maintain transport and protocol libraries for USB, UART/Serial, SPI, I2C communication\n * Ensure tools are cross\u2011platform, supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS\n * Debug and resolve complex issues across:\n * communication and transport stacks\n * memory, concurrency, and performance\n * host\u2013target interaction\n * Lead development of cross\u2011compiled tools and host\u2011side debugging workflows\n * Drive architecture, design documentation, and technical reviews\n * Enforce secure coding practices, code quality, and scalable development workflows\n * Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, validation, and manufacturing teams\n * Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the tools team\n\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical/Electronics, or related field\n * 6\u20139 years of experience building complex, production\u2011grade system software\n * Expert\u2011level proficiency in C and Modern C++ (11/14/17) advanced features, including:\n * STL and object\u2011oriented design\n * data structures and algorithms\n * Deep understanding of Linux and Windows OS internals, including:\n * multithreading and synchronization\n * IPC mechanisms and service/daemon models\n * security, permissions, and process lifecycle\n * Proven experience owning or leading host\u2011side tools for debugging, flashing, diagnostics, or test infrastructure\n * Strong understanding of SoC and microcontroller architectures and host\u2011to\u2011target interaction models\n * Hands\u2011on experience with embedded toolchains, cross\u2011compilation, and low\u2011level debugging\n * Deep understanding and experience of Operating System concepts, Windows/Linux Kernel , Windows/Linux Device Drivers\n * Good understanding of compilers such as Visual Studio/LLVM/GCC.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n \n \n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. \n \n\u2022 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n\nPreferred / Nice\u2011to\u2011Have Skills\n\n * Experience building device bring\u2011up, firmware update, and production test tools\n * Familiarity with USB host stacks and drivers on Windows/Linux\n * Experience with factory, production, or field test frameworks\n * Strong working knowledge of CLI tools, automation frameworks, and scripting interfaces\n * Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or similar scripting languages for automation and tooling\n * Experience with Git / GitHub / GitLab / Perforce in large, multi\u2011repository environments\n * Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for host tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar)\n * Experience with installer creation, packaging, and deployment for host\u2011side tools\n * LLVM or any industrial strength compiler development experience is a plus\n * Good to have familiarity with ARM SOC architecture understanding of ARM assembly programming and debugging.\n\n\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
