Job Description - Lead Engineer -Wireless Radio Frequency

## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton\u0027s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\n\nEaton\u2019s eMobility segment is currently seeking a dynamic, eager-to-learn Radio Frequency Engineer to join the Mobile Wireless team and contribute to our fast-growing global business. Mobile Wireless is part of LVPC business within eMobility, a strategically important segment of Eaton. This position plays a critical role in developing the future direction of Eaton\u2019s wireless technologies.The Lead RF Design Engineer will be responsible for developing a range of new wireless products. This new suite of products will extend Eaton\u2019s already successful wireless solutions and bring an unmatched level of industrial enterprise connectivity. \n\u2022 Design and develop portions of complex wireless products and systems. \n\u2022 Deliver market-competitive, manufacturable product designs on time and on budget while balancing innovation and risk. \n\u2022 Develop a deep technical understanding of existing wireless products and propose product improvements. \n\u2022 Serve as a key member of cross-functional project teams and actively participate in design reviews. \n\u2022 Learn and support Eaton\u2019s current radio product portfolio. \n\u2022 Support existing product lines and perform other related tasks and projects as required\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Radio Frequency Engineering or Electronics Engineering with an RF focus from an accredited institution (Graduate degree preferred). \n10+ years with BE or 8+ years experience M.E 5+ years of relevant work experience.\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Phase noise measurement and analysis. \n\u2022 Receiver sensitivity measurement. \n\u2022 Digital signal processing including digital filters, frequency demodulation, and bit/word synchronization. \n\u2022 Embedded C software development for microcontrollers. \n\u2022 Experience with RF and electronic circuit simulation tools. \n\u2022 Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi physical layer experience. \n\u2022 Understanding of RF performance variation with temperature. \n\u2022 PLL control loop design and stability analysis.\n\nPosition Success Criteria / Technical Knowledge\n\nRF, Analog, and Digital Circuitry \n\u2022 Knowledge of RF circuitry including amplifiers, mixers, filters, PLL synthesizers, oscillators, modulators and demodulators, RF switches, and reference oscillators (VCTCXOs). \n\u2022 Understanding of baseband circuitry including ADC and DAC architectures and characteristics. \n\u2022 Experience with digital circuitry including microcontrollers, GPIOs, and synchronous/asynchronous serial interfaces. \n\u2022 Knowledge of power circuitry including LDOs, buck converters, and boost converters with attention to RF noise performance. \nTransceiver Architectures and Control Systems \n\u2022 Experience with feedback control systems including AFC, AGC, PLL, and ALC loops. \n\u2022 Understanding of half-duplex systems using 2-level and 4-level FSK modulation. \n\u2022 Knowledge of packet structure and timing in half-duplex systems. \n\u2022 Understanding of narrowband versus wideband transceiver requirements. \n\u2022 Knowledge of FHSS versus DSSS radio systems.\n\nRF Measurements, Instrumentation, and Calibration \n\u2022 Expertise using RF instruments including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, VNAs, VSAs, and noise sources. \n\u2022 Measurement of S-parameters and matching circuit design. \n\u2022 Understanding of filter roles in receiver and transmitter chains, including heterodyne architectures. \n\u2022 Gain and noise figure calculations across receiver and transmitter chains. \n\u2022 Radio calibration for frequency accuracy, RSSI, and transmit power. \n\u2022 Knowledge of antenna parameters and conducted and radiated RF measurements.\n\nRegulatory and Compliance \n\u2022 Familiarity with regulatory standards and approval processes including FCC and CE. \n\u2022 Understanding of pre-compliance and certification testing.\" \n\u2022 Strong drive for results with an analysis-first mindset and a passion for engineering excellence. \n\u2022 Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and global stakeholders. \n\u2022 Ability to build strong customer relationships and manage customer communication effectively by delivering customer-centric solutions. \n\u2022 Demonstrated capability to provide visible technical leadership, guiding, coaching, and developing high-performing project teams and individual contributors.\n
