About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking System Software Engineer to own the firmware stack for our next-generation peripheral subsystems. In this role, you will go beyond standard driver development, working at the intersection of hardware and software. You will be responsible for coding complex firmware that manages data movement and protocol acceleration for modern SoCs.

Key Responsibilities

• Core Firmware Architecture: Design, maintain, and optimize low-level firmware for complex IP blocks, ensuring high performance and power efficiency.
• Protocol Management: Demonstrate deep understanding and hands-on experience with standard serial protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, I3C) at the controller and register level.
• Automation & Tooling: utilize scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell) to automate workflows.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with hardware designers, validation teams, and OS driver teams to resolve complex integration issues during silicon bring-up.
• Debug & Analysis: Apply analytical thinking to debug hardware-firmware interactions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Embedded C programming and Firmware architecture.
• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded targets and Python for host-side tooling.

Nice to Haves

• Exposure to programming DMA controllers, Microcode.
• System Knowledge: Understanding of Operating System internals (Linux/RTOS) and how they interact with peripheral hardware.

• Exposure to DDR controller firmware.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
