Role Overview
Technical support to Inside Sales and Outside sales in the pre order stage â for new and special valve
applications and new designs. This role also envisages the review of customer specification and technical
risk review and give necessary inputs to Sales during the quote stage.
Key Responsibilities
⢠Design new products, modify existing designs, develop calculation tools, test procedures, solve problems,
run/verify calculations, perform project specification reviews, perform design reviews, verify standards and
manuals, and conduct meetings.
⢠Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
⢠Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve products and develops
recommendations accordingly.
⢠Upgrading the design standards, design rules and design calculations based on lessons learnt and
feedback.
⢠Design and manufacturing review with sales and operations.
⢠Prepare design (hand) calculations for the design development/ evaluation.
⢠Manufacturing and field service support during assembly / commissioning.
⢠Make innovative changes in the existing product for improvements and easy manufacture
⢠Provide error free and timely designs and engineering outputs.
⢠Prepare the design documents and operation and maintenance manuals for the new product.
⢠Attend meetings and conferences to develop knowledge and skills.
⢠Discuss with vendors and understand their process/technology and implement in the product.
⢠Work with all IMI locations worldwide to understand the identified product, and its design and engineering
requirements.
⢠Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are
performed in a safe manner.
⢠Customer and site visits for technical discussion and site studies.
Requirements
Critical Competencies for Success
⢠Degree in Mechanical Engineering
⢠Must have working knowledge of Solid works & AutoCAD
⢠Good communications skills
⢠Working knowledge on MS Office
⢠Knowledge in Excel VBA / Macros would be desirable
⢠Good problem solving skills â knowledge on various problem solving techniques would be beneficial
⢠Good knowledge on Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Metallurgy and Machine Design.
⢠Must have good writing skills to prepare design documents and manuals.
⢠Basic knowledge on pneumatics, pneumatic circuits & hydraulics
⢠Self - driven, assertive, entrepreneurial mindset and resourceful.
⢠Must be willing to travel anywhere globally.
⢠Education qualification and Experience: Degree in Mechanical Engineering from good or reputed college
only : 7- 10 years experience
⢠Must possess good writing and communication skills.
