Job Description - Lead Software Engineer - Solution Architect - Public cloud
Your Role
Lead end-to-end pre-sales solutioning for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition opportunities across mid-market and large enterprise clients.
Conduct client discovery workshops to understand business drivers, pain points, transformation objectives, process maturity, localization needs, integration landscape, data migration complexity, and deployment expectations.
Translate client requirements into fit-to-standard SAP Public Cloud solution outlines, highlighting standard scope, process coverage, extensibility approach, integrations, reporting, security, and compliance considerations.
Design solution architecture covering SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, SAP BTP, integrations, analytics, data migration, identity/security, extensibility, and connected SAP/non-SAP applications.
Prepare and present solution proposals, architecture documents, scope assumptions, implementation approach, timelines, RACI, risks, dependencies, and value propositions.
Own or contribute to RFP/RFI responses, solution narratives, bill of materials, estimation inputs, delivery model, commercials, differentiators, and executive presentations.
Drive fit-to-standard mindset and advise clients on adopting SAP best practices while minimizing customizations and promoting clean core principles.
Partner with sales, account teams, industry teams, delivery leadership, SAP alliances, commercial teams, and offshore/nearshore delivery units to shape competitive and feasible solutions.
Support demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, solution walk-throughs, conference room pilots, and client orals.
Identify risks early in the deal cycle including localization gaps, complex integrations, data quality issues, change management needs, scope ambiguity, and non-standard requirements.
Create reusable assets such as proposal templates, estimators, scope item libraries, fit-gap questionnaires, deployment accelerators, and industry-specific solution packs.
Ensure smooth handover from pre-sales to delivery teams including solution rationale, scope, assumptions, commitments, risks, and client expectations.
Stay current with SAP roadmap, release updates, public cloud innovations, industry capabilities, and partner ecosystem offerings.
Your Profile
12+ years of overall SAP experience with strong exposure to SAP ERP transformation programs.
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on or solutioning experience in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition or SAP Cloud ERP engagements.
Proven experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, advisory, blueprinting, fit-to-standard workshops, or proposal solutioning.
Strong understanding of SAP Activate methodology for cloud implementations and fit-to-standard delivery approach.
Experience across at least two core business domains such as Finance, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Professional Services, or Asset Management.
Exposure to global template design, rollouts, localization assessment, integrations, data migration, testing, cutover, and operational readiness.
Experience working with senior business stakeholders, IT leadership, architects, procurement teams, and CxO-level client stakeholders.
Prior experience in building estimates, implementation plans, commercials, TCV inputs, staffing models, and delivery assumptions for SAP deals.
Experience with SAP partner ecosystem, SAP tools/assets, SAP Best Practices Explorer, SAP Signavio, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP BTP, and integration options will be an advantage.

Strong consultative communication and executive presence for presentations, workshops, and negotiation support.
Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across sales, solutioning, delivery, commercial, and client teams.
Strong documentation skills for proposals, architecture diagrams, assumptions, scope statements, and implementation approach.
Awareness of clean core, in-app extensibility, side-by-side extensibility using SAP BTP, integration patterns, APIs, and SAP standard content.
Ability to mentor junior consultants, solution leads, and bid teams on SAP Public Cloud solutioning approach.
