The Lead Administrator provides hands-on day-to-day technical support for Linux & UNIX systems at an experienced level. The scope of this position includes mission critical support for Linux & UNIX servers, all of which are in our Global Datacenters and Regional Datacenters. This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the following operational areas: support, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, and participating in technology driven projects to enhance our service.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead Administration skills with experience in Centos/RHEL/OEL (6/7/8) version


• Worked on OS upgrade, OS update and other migration efforts from CentOS/RHELto OEL 8.x

• Guide and mentor junior engineers, providing technical support and leadership, and fostering a culture of engineering best practices.


• Scripting for DevOPs automation. Shell, Perl, Python or other popular languages.


• Familiarity with other languages like R, Java, HTTP, etc. is a plus.


• Working knowledge of OS installation automation using kickstart and post-installation scripting


• Automation technology experience with Ansible


• Linux and Unix security patching and OS updating


• Working knowledge of VMware from a Linux SA perspective such as host setup and maintenance


• Provide RCA for production issues (Sev1/Sev2) outages and work to stabilize the environment with best practices and come out with ideas/inputs


• Documentation and best practices and share knowledge with the team members


• Experience with Cisco UCS, HP-UX, VM and Cloud infrastructure preferred

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Computers or related field


• knowledge of hardware setup, debugging and failure resolution


• Experience with infrastructure debugging and performance monitoring


• Worked with global team, various management levels, business stakeholders, Service Delivery and Project managers, other subject matter experts and vendor engineers


• Familiarity with Hadoop, Cloud technology and Big Data infrastructure


• 10 -14 years of IT experience and worked as a lead handling major projects/initiative


• Effective written and oral communication skills.Hands on Experience in Linux and part of troubleshooting and RCA analysis


• Automation mindset for addressing core issues and stabilizing the environment


• Orientation to problem-solving and analysis


• Strong verbal communication skills


• Responsiveness and speed with attention to details & accuracy


• Ability to work well in teams and with clients


• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing tasks
