Job Description - Lead-Sales and Business Development


Position Overview:

The Sales Lead will be responsible for driving business development,
client acquisition, and sales strategy for the Rooftop, Floating, and Small
Utility Ground-Mount Solar business. The role is focused on generating
business from C&I consumers.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Sales & Business Development: Develop and execute sales strategies for
    solar projects up to 20MW. Generate and qualify leads, build a
    strong pipeline of opportunities, and drive B2B and B2G sales.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key
    decision-makers, manage end-to-end client engagement from pitch to project
    award, and lead negotiations.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Build and lead a high-performing sales
    team and collaborate with engineering, project management, and finance
    teams to develop proposals.

  • Market Intelligence & Strategy: Conduct competitive benchmarking and
    market research, identify new market segments, and provide input on
    pricing and go-to-market plans.

  • Driven by outcomes and takes ownership
    from lead generation to deal closure.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet
    deadlines.

  • Familiarity with government policies and
    regulatory frameworks in the renewable energy space.

  • Techno-commercial acumen with knowledge of
    solar PV technology, CAPEX/OPEX models, and ROI calculations.



Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
    (Electrical/Mechanical preferred) is required, with an MBA in
    Sales/Marketing/Business Development being preferred.

  • Experience: 10-12 years of experience in solar sales,
    with at least 5 years in EPC sales within the rooftop/floating/small
    utility solar segment. A proven track record of achieving
    annual revenue targets and closing large-scale projects is essential.
    Experience working with DISCOMs, PSUs, state nodal agencies, and
    industrial clients is a plus.
