About the role
We are looking for a Legal Specialist to join us in Bengaluru as part of our global Legal and Compliance team. Our Legal function plays an important role in supporting EquiLend’s growth by ensuring our business operates with strong governance, efficient contracting processes, and practical legal guidance that enables our teams to move quickly and responsibly.
EquiLend is a global financial technology company providing trading, post-trade, data and analytics, and regulatory solutions for the securities finance industry, helping firms operate more efficiently across the entire trade lifecycle.
In this role, you will work closely with our Corporate Counsel and colleagues across Sales, Product, Finance, and other teams to support the delivery of high-quality legal services across our global business. You will help manage and streamline sales contracting processes, support corporate governance requirements in India, and contribute to operational improvements that allow our legal function to scale alongside our growing product suite.

What you'll do
- Draft and support the preparation of sales agreements, including complex contracts related to financial technology, SaaS platforms, and data products.
- Support the contracting lifecycle by generating initial contract drafts and helping maintain efficient contract workflows within the contract lifecycle management system.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate contracting processes and support legal operations initiatives that improve efficiency and scalability.
- Assist with contract management activities including tracking agreements, maintaining documentation, and supporting negotiation playbooks and contracting guidelines.
- Ensure contracts comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and established negotiation frameworks.
- Support corporate governance activities for EquiLend India in coordination with the appointed Company Secretary firm.
- Assist with maintaining statutory registers, corporate records, and regulatory documentation.
- Help coordinate board and shareholder meetings, including preparation and distribution of meeting materials.
- Monitor regulatory requirements and assist in ensuring ongoing compliance with corporate governance standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the global Legal and Compliance team in the US, UK, Europe, and Asia to provide consistent legal support to internal stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Legal team and assist with internal initiatives and special projects as required.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience working in contract management, legal operations, or as a paralegal within a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Demonstrates strong contract drafting capabilities and the ability to translate commercial requirements into practical legal language.
- Shows strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Communicates clearly and collaborates effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including legal, sales, product, and finance teams.
- Works both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, integrity, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience working within SaaS, data technology, fintech, or financial services environments is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Indian corporate governance frameworks or regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
