Job Description - Librarian required for polytechnic college in Kopargoan,Maharashtra - ( Job ID - 23477)

Responsibilities:

Manage and organize the library’s physical and digital collections, including acquisition, cataloging, classification, and maintenance of books, journals, periodicals, and multimedia resources.
Implement and oversee the use of library management software to streamline operations, track inventory, and improve user access.
Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty, and staff, supporting curriculum -based learning and project work.
Conduct orientation sessions and training workshops for new students and faculty on library resources, databases, and research tools.
Monitor and enforce library policies, including borrowing procedures, due dates, fines, and user conduct.
Collaborate with academic departments to identify and procure relevant textbooks, technical manuals, and scholarly materials.
Maintain up -to -date records of library statistics, usage trends, and budget expenditures.
Promote literacy and reading culture through reading programs, book fairs, and thematic campaigns.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc.) or equivalent; Master’s degree (MLIS) preferred.
Minimum 2 years of proven experience in a library or information center, preferably within an educational or technical institution.
Proficiency in library management systems (e.g., Koha, LibSys, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Familiarity with digital resources, e -journals, e -books, and online academic databases.
