The candidate should be comfortable interacting with leadership and mentoring junior staff, while still being hands-on with evaluate new technologies, troubleshooting, scripting, and infrastructure design. \n \n\u2022 Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure Linux infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance \n \n\u2022 Function as the Linux platform owner, escalation point, and tech lead in cross-functional environment \n \n\u2022 Mentor and lead technical staff, drive documentation and knowledge sharing, and serve as the primary subject matter expert for Linux systems within the organization \n \n\u2022 Own Linux system lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, monitoring, incident response, and remediation aligned with InfoSec and audit requirements \n \nKey Activities: \n\u2022 Document Infrastructure and Operations \no Maintain up-to-date documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, deployment processes and architecture diagrams for internal teams \n\u2022 Plan and Execute Upgrades \no Evaluate and implement OS, and software upgrades as per lifecycle requirements \n\u2022 Security Monitoring and Response \no Apply patches, mitigate risks, and generate security compliance reports for InfoSec or audit teams \no Monitor and react to security issues and \u2018zero-day\u2019 events; prepare reports accordingly \n\u2022 Troubleshooting and Incident Management \no Proactively identify and resolve system issues; respond to alerts and incidents \no Perform root cause analysis (RCA); document problems and implemented remediations \n\u2022 \no Periodically report to senior leadership recommended upgrades and/or changes to environment including new concepts and designs \n \nThe Linux Design team is responsible for: \n\u2022 Day-to-day function, operation, and availability of the entire Linux enterprise \n\u2022 Regular recurring Linux OS and security patching and updates via established and automatically updated repositories \n\u2022 Provision of all necessary components for the automated build and creation of Linux systems \n\u2022 Implementation and enforcement of Infosec security rules, restrictions, and configurations \n\u2022 Accountable for Linux infrastructure issues, risks, and remediation efforts as well as the designated Linux support and contact \n \nTechnical Skill Requirement: \n\u2022 Expert knowledge on RedHat Linux OS, Kernel, infrastructure and security \n\u2022 \no LVM \no RPM \no NetworkManager \no Systemd \no Syslog, rsyslog \n\u2022 Expert knowledge in Linux Base Build, Kickstart, and BM / BMR Functions \n\u2022 \no ISO creation \no Remote and automated OS installation processes \n\u2022 SME RedHat / equivalent applications \n\u2022 \no AWX (Open Source) / Ansible Tower \n\u2022 Foreman (Open Source) / Satellite \n\u2022 RH Insights \n\u2022 Pacemaker \n\u2022 OpenShift Concepts \n\u2022 Proficiency in RedHat patching and security \n\u2022 Patch management strategies \n\u2022 Red Hat repository management \n\u2022 Can demonstrate proficiency in several SHELL scripting languages (ex., bash) \n\u2022 Can demonstrate proficiency in hands-on unassisted troubleshooting \n\u2022 Can demonstrate knowledge with RHEL OS history, development, and roadmap \n\u2022 Can demonstrate a working technical knowledge of several mid-range server models \n\u2022 Can demonstrate implement, support and maintain Open-Source software \n \nSoft/Mgmt Skill Requirement: \n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a variety of audiences (senior leadership, project teams, peers, and technical understudies \n\u2022 Demonstrate and provide examples of self-written documentation: processes, detailed environment descriptions, infrastructure diagrams, etc. \n\u2022 Seamlessly work with various internal groups: application and project teams, infrastructure support teams (GNS, OSG, DCIG, CM.io, etc.), InfoSec \n\u2022 Create, provide, and communicate status reports for all Linux infrastructure to senior leadership \n\u2022 Mentor junior, intermediate, and senior technical staff;
