Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

To be successful as a “Macro Trade Capture Developer”, you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

• Strong C++ Programming Expertise - hands-on experience in modern C++ with deep understanding of object-oriented design, memory management, STL, and performance optimization in banking or financial services domain.
• Advanced Multithreading & Concurrency - Proven experience designing and implementing thread-safe, high-performance applications.
• Modern C++ & STL Proficiency - Expert-level knowledge of Standard Template Library (containers, algorithms, iterators) and modern C++ features including smart pointers, move semantics, lambda expressions.
• Banking Domain Experience candidate preferred - Demonstrated experience developing applications for trading systems, payment processing, or core banking platforms with understanding of financial protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Java Development Skills - Solid working knowledge of Core and Advanced Java (Java 8+), Micronaut framework, Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration, and Git/CI-CD pipeline development for microservices architecture.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across multiple business and IT environments globally.
• Prior experience working in investment banking or financial services (nice to have).
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
