Manager, Advanced Software Development

Shell Recharge Solutions is seeking a Manager, Advanced Software Development!

The Manager, Advanced Software Development will manage/lead an integral part of a fast-paced development team that responds to Customer needs and escalations regarding our complex product suite of Enterprise applications in the Electric Vehicle Charging network domain (SKY). The Candidate will participate in the technical solutioning and implementation of fix and enhancements across the product offering. This candidate works closely with rest of cross-functional team to produce design documents, and implement product changes and fixes.

NOTE - We are looking for someone who has a technical background (Java , MS , Cloud etc) but currently more into management, this role offers (management - 80%-85% , Technology - 15%-20%)

What you’ll do:

• Must have the ability to strategically prioritize and adapt to a continuously changing and evolving backlog, coupled with the capacity to collaborate with matrixed teams on technology and development approaches.
• Develop a technical strategy for the implementation of development items with the SDLC.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural recommendations for designing, building, testing, deploying changes to SKY while maintaining high availability, scalability and security.
• Act as the team's escalation point to other technology functions, as well as to internal business partners and external vendors as necessary.
• Establish strong, positive relationships with internal business partners and ability to map business processes to technology solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and globally with hardware and cloud engineering teams to support specifications, features, and integrations with open and third-party APIs.
• Effectively communicate technology solutions and recommendations to senior level management and business partners.
• Mentoring/ coaching/ leading individual team members including goal setting and best practices.
• Perform architectural, design and hands-on code reviews that raise the bar for the platform.
• Maintain codebase, design specs, and associated documentation.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related scientific disciplines (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of software development experience, we are looking for someone who has a technical background (Java , MS , Cloud etc) but currently more into management
• Experience in attracting and retaining technical talent.
• Knowledge of full stack development with the following: AWS, Microservices architecture, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, Relational Databases, REST
• Experience with Source Control, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, JUnit, SonarQube, Messaging Platforms
• Developing in a distributed, event-driven microservices architecture
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices
• Superb communication skills at all levels, from team members to senior management.
