Job Description - Manager - Business Development

What You Can Expect:

Roles & Responsibilities:   

 

Business Development & Sales 

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Project Logistics (ODC, heavy lift, break-bulk, and turnkey transportation). 

  • Engage with EPC companies, infrastructure developers, OEMs, and contractors for upcoming and ongoing projects. 

  • Respond to RFPs/RFQs and lead tender submissions with tailored technical and commercial proposals. 

 

Client Engagement & Relationship Management 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (project managers, procurement heads, site logistics teams). 

  • Conduct site visits and technical assessments to understand logistics needs and feasibility. 

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through continuous engagement and post-sales support. 

 

Commercial & Technical Coordination 

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and pricing teams to develop cost-effective and technically viable transport solutions. 

  • Understand route surveys, special equipment planning (low bed, hydraulic axles, multi-axle trailers), and statutory permissions. 

 

Market Intelligence 

  • Track project developments in target industries and geographies. 

  • Stay informed about competitor offerings, pricing trends, and regulatory updates (e.g., state permits, axle load regulations, port handling constraints). 

 

Reporting & CRM 

  • Maintain accurate pipeline and opportunity tracking using CRM tools. 

  • Provide weekly/monthly updates on leads, proposals, closures, and revenue forecasts. 

 

What You Bring:

Experience: 8+ years in sales or business development of project logistics or heavy cargo transport services. 

Domain Knowledge: 

  • Understanding of heavy and ODC transportation planning, multimodal solutions, and project site handling 

  • Familiarity with sectors like EPC, Power, Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining, or Steel 

  • Exposure to bidding, tendering, contract negotiations, and client onboarding 

Skills: 

  • Strong sales, negotiation, and technical communication skills 

  • Ability to read basic engineering drawings and transport plans 

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems 

Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to project sites, client offices, and regional locations.
