Manager, Cost Modeling

The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team identifies, researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluates sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.

This role in summary

Responsible for market research, study raw material, labour rate & MHR trends across NAR, LAR & ASIA regions. Recommend strategy to achieve cost leadership in various products of WPL. Lead Cost modeling and correlation for Plastic injection molding and Sheet metal components.

Your responsibilities will include

Responsible  to support cost modeling critical inputs of Raw material, Forex, Labour rates etc at various supplier locations across NAR, LAR, ASIA etc

Basic knowledge of MIS and communications

Responsible for Cost Model development of Metal commodities. Close interaction with the Target Costing, Commodity , Design  and Product Management ( Plant GSS ) Team.

Expert knowledge of Injection Moulding ,Stamping & Casting Tool, Manufacturing/engineering processes, materials & systems. Communication skills are a must to deal with global partners.

Familiar with Extrusion  , Pressure Die Casting , Sand Casting and Sintered Powdered Metal manufacturing processes and perform costing. Experience in Stamping shop floor and tooling are desired.

Partner with Global Target costing and Commodity leaders in Correlation meeting with suppliers to facilitate negotiations .

Key Deliverables

Accuracy in part/ component costing for project management , generating cost ideas and  delivering productivity.

Lead a team of 3-4 Cost modelers from various commodity expertise and deliver cost leadership through domain expertise.

Minimum requirements

10~13 yrs exp in handling commodities including Metal Stamping & Injection Moulding.

Educational Background - B.Tech/ M.Tech Mechanical Engg

Excellent communication skills and experience in working with the Global environment

Preferred - Knowledge of Technical and commercial both

Preferred Industry - Home appliance industry/ Automotive Industry/EMS /Suppliers/Manufacturers

Preferred skills and experiences

TECHNICAL                  

High level experience on Stamping , Casting & Sintering  manufacturing process, cycle time and MHR data. 

Knowledge of the design related cost parameters.

Add value in supplier selection by cost evaluation and comparison.

Knowledge about cost headers and factors that impact overall cost. 

Basic knowledge on procurement processes.

Should be able to comprehend Stamping and Casting design drawings and conclude cost based on the design inputs.

Work on global assignments and exposure with outside India projects

BEHAVIOURAL

Communication skills are a must to deal with global partners and stakeholders.

Should have good presentation skills
