The Manager, Academics & Curriculum Development will lead the design, execution, and quality assurance of the organizations innovative, skill-integrated, NEP-aligned learning framework. This role requires strong instructional leadership, project management expertise, and the ability to mentor a team, ensuring that curriculum materials are grounded in field experience and effectively delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Curriculum Design & Development:
Lead Design: Lead the design and development of the entire learning framework, including Learning Outcomes, detailed curriculum, Teacher and Student Workbooks, lesson plans, and Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs).
Vision & Alignment: Ensure all materials are NEP 2020 and NCFSE compliant and successfully integrate rural skills and local knowledge into the mainstream curriculum.
Quality Assurance: Oversee the review and refinement of materials based on feedback from pilots and field teams to maintain high quality and contextual relevance.
2. Instructional Leadership & Program Management:
Pilot Management: Plan, manage, and coordinate the successful piloting of curriculum materials in various field locations.
Team Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and build the capacity of the Academics team, ensuring alignment of goals and quality of output.
M&E Integration: Design and implement robust Educational M&E systems to track learning outcomes, collect real-time data, and use insights for continuous curriculum refinement.
Budget Management: Manage the budget and resources allocated for curriculum development and teacher capacity building initiatives.
3. Teacher Capacity Building & Learning Culture:
Training Design: Design and lead high-impact, experiential teacher workshops and professional learning modules.
Field Support: Provide direct instructional support to field teams and teachers; foster a strong, reflective learning culture across the organization.
Research: Stay updated on current educational trends and theories to continually improve instructional design for both children and adult learners.
Professional Experience & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree and certifications are required; a Masters degree in a relevant field (Education, Curriculum Design) is preferred.
Experience:Minimum 4-6 years of teaching and/or curriculum design experience, preferably within government or NGO education contexts.
Skills (Essential):
Expertise: Strong grounding in curriculum frameworks, learning outcomes, and assessment design (especially competency-based).
Instructional Design: Proficiency in experiential learning, lesson planning, and TLM design to support teacher capacity building.
M&E: Proven experience in educational M&E tool creation, data collection, and analysis.
Policy Knowledge: Working knowledge of NEP 2020, NCFSE, and competency-based education.
Communication: Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills in English.
Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.
