Job Description - Manager - Entertainment Pricing, Planning, Supply and Ad Products, Digital

Job Summary

We are looking for a strategic, data-driven professional for the Product & Revenue Strategy function at JioHotstar. As Manager, you will drive the analytics, revenue planning, pricing, and monetisation charter, helping shape the data narrative behind key business and revenue decisions. You will build frameworks that connect product behaviour, content performance, inventory planning, and commercial outcomes. This role demands a blend of strong commercial acumen, deep analytical fluency, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Ad Sales, Content, Finance, and Strategy teams. 

* Key Responsibilities

Client-Level Pricing 

  • Own day-to-day pricing operations for the Entertainment business by evaluating and aligning negotiated client rates with PRS guidelines.
  • Partnering with Sales, PRS, and leadership teams to review pricing asks basis client context, agency dynamics, competitive benchmarks, and monetisation priorities.
  • Track and govern pricing alignment across all active advertisers, ensuring consistency and commercial effectiveness.
  • Support leadership on strategic pricing decisions for key clients, deep discounting scenarios, and high-value partnerships.
  • Drive pricing governance and maintain pricing parity across direct and indirect sales channels 

PRS & Sales Partnering

  • Partner with cross-functional business teams on Entertainment monetisation initiatives and revenue governance
  • Design and evaluate curated pricing and packaging strategies for long-tail clients while ensuring alignment with Direct channel pricing principles.
  • Drive periodic business reviews and recommendations backed by strong analytical rationale and leadership alignment.
  • Manage reconciliation of Entertainment revenue allocations, sales ownership splits, and monetisation reporting across properties and channels.
  • Support strategic decision-making through revenue analysis, business tracking, and actionable insights across Sports and Entertainment sales structures. 

Revenue Management & Planning

  • Maintain and update annual operating plan trackers with actuals, projections, and variance commentary.
  • Consolidate revenue data across multiple ad formats, platforms, and regions into a single source of truth.
  • Support annual planning cycles by collating, cleansing, and structuring data requirements from business, sales, and content teams.
  • Manage client mapping exercises and oversee structural changes in revenue reporting hierarchies.
  • Calculate and monitor revenue impact metrics, tying content investments to monetisation outcomes.
  • Maintain and enhance BI dashboards for revenue KPI tracking, ensuring uptime and data accuracy.
  • Track ad format revenues and click-through rate metrics, identifying underperforming units and growth levers.
  • Forecast and plan inventory and impressions for key shows, working closely with ad sales and content scheduling teams.
  • Own periodic revenue reporting, delivering nuanced revenue and consumption insights for dedicated content verticals.

Data Management & Product Analytics

  • Drive the analytics and reporting charter for Entertainment by building scalable data frameworks, automated dashboards, and executive reporting systems that power business and monetisation decisions.
  • Own product analytics, behavioural cohorting, and performance tracking across live events, tentpole IPs, and key content categories to generate actionable audience and revenue insights.
  • Lead data governance across revenue and performance reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment across cross-functional stakeholders and business reviews.
  • Leverage mobile analytics, competitive intelligence, and cross-platform audience analysis to uncover market trends, benchmark performance, and inform content, marketing, and partnership strategies.

* Skills & Attributes for success

  • Strong hands-on proficiency with product Analytics (cohort creation, funnel analysis, dashboard building) and SQL-based querying.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; ability to wrangle large datasets with speed and precision.
  • Familiarity with revenue metrics: ad impressions, CTR, fill rates, eCPM, digital revenue consolidations, and AOP planning cycles.
  • Impeccable attention to detail - you can spot a data inconsistency before it becomes a slide in the board deck.
  • Comfortable managing multiple trackers and dashboards under tight deadlines.
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical data points into executive-ready insights.
  • A problem-solving mindset: you don’t just report what happened; you seek to explain why it happened and what should be done next.

* Preferred Education & Experience

  • MBA graduate (IIT/NIT/BITS/IIM/ISB or equivalent) with 5–7 years of experience in revenue strategy, monetisation, pricing, business analytics, or commercial planning - preferably in digital media, OTT, ad-tech, or consumer internet businesses.
