Job Description - Manager - Geology

The Manager – Geology will be responsible for
geological interpretation, resource and reserve estimation, mine planning
support, statutory reporting, and preparation of technical documentation for
mining and dump -handling projects. The role involves evaluating mineral blocks,
preparing project reports, coordinating environmental clearance documentation,
and supporting due diligence studies of mining assets. This position requires
strong geological modeling capability, sound knowledge of mining laws, and the
ability to produce accurate technical plans and submissions.

Key
Responsibilities

  • Update geological plans, cross -sections, and
    interpretations using exploration and drilling data.

  • Build and maintain accurate orebody models by
    integrating borehole data.

  • Estimate grade -wise mineral resources and
    reserves using accepted classification systems.

  • Provide mineable resource estimates and
    feasibility inputs to support due diligence studies.

  • Design pit layouts based on geological and
    operational parameters.

  • Develop year -wise production and development
    schedules for mining operations.

  • Prepare technical bids for mineral block
    auctions, including geological reports, resource statements, and
    mine -planning components.

  • Develop Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for
    mining and dump -handling projects.

  • Create conceptual, environmental, and handling
    plans for dump management.

  • Estimate year -wise dump handling quantities
    and design handling schedules.

  • Compile and submit statutory forms (Form L,
    Form M) to IBM & DMG as required under mining regulations.

  • Prepare and supply technical documentation,
    plans, and data needed for obtaining Environmental Clearance (EC).

  • Coordinate with internal teams, external
    consultants, and regulatory authorities (e.g., SEIAA) for project and
    compliance matters.

  • Handle EC applications, statutory submissions,
    and other regulatory approvals.

  • Provide geological inputs for project
    planning, operational decision -making, and compliance activities.

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely submission of all
    geological plans, reports, and schedules.



Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Geology,
    Applied Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.

  • Knowledge of MCR, MCDR, IBM/DMG reporting
    standards; RQP qualification is an advantage.

  • 10–15 years of experience in geological modelling,
    mine planning, resource estimation, and statutory submissions within the
    mining sector (iron ore exposure preferred).

  • Experience in due diligence studies, DPR
    preparation, or environmental clearance documentation is desirable.

Key Competencies

  • Geological modeling, orebody interpretation,
    and resource estimation.

  • Mine planning fundamentals and production
    scheduling.

  • Proficiency in geological/mine planning
    software (Surpac, Minex, Datamine, ArcGIS, AutoCAD).

  • Understanding of Indian mining laws, auction
    bid requirements, EC documentation, and environmental norms.

  • Strong analytical and problem -solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with high accuracy in data
    handling.

  • Effective communication and reporting ability.
  • Coordination skills for working with internal
    and external stakeholders.
