Job Description

Compliance and policy

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with local, national, and international regulations. 

• Ensure the company complies with all relevant safety and environmental laws and standards, staying updated on legislative changes. 

• Support EHS managers in daily activities to ensure compliance and safe working conditions. 

Risk management and safety

• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace. 

• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate and control identified risks. 

• Perform regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and safety systems (e.g., fire alarms, sprinklers) to ensure they are in good working order. 

• Monitor work permits and site activities to ensure safety protocols are followed. 

Training and communication

• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, including new hires and contractors.

• Conduct safety inductions for workers, often in coordination with project managers.

• Educate employees and management on EHS policies and procedures. 

Incident and emergency response

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain systems for incident reporting and documentation.

• Assist in developing and implementing emergency preparedness and response plans. 

Environmental management

• Support environmental initiatives like waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability efforts.

• Oversee environmental impact reduction programs to ensure the company operates in an environmentally responsible manner. 

Auditing and reporting

• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to check for compliance.

• Maintain comprehensive EHS-related records and documentation.

• Prepare EHS reports for management and regulatory authorities.
