Description

Job Summary


Plan, organize, and control manufacturing processes to meet production targets. Maintain and ensure the efficient utilization of production resources, including capital equipment and human resources.


Primary Responsibilities



  • Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for assigned department. 

  • Provide continual evaluation of department processes, methods, and activities to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment. 

  • Manage budget and expenditures. 

  • Manage the design and implement the tooling and processing to manufacture products in a cost-effective manner.

  • Qualify vendors to manufacture NOV products if required.

  • Implement cost saving projects for continuous improvement.

  • Provide other NOV facilities with technical assistance on production.

  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.


Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities



  • Responsible to managing various Manufacturing activities such as Product Assembly, Manufacturing, Industrial engineering.

  • Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout and operational data, recommends methods of improving team member efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.

  • Creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational excellence. 

  • Develop manufacturing process for new products and work towards product transition qualification. Initiate Kaizen, 5S & process improvement processes in production department.

  • Assure maximum utilization of resources to control the key variable areas within the budget of expendable supplies, non-expendable supplies, direct hours, and indirect hours. 

  • In conjunction with department supervisors, ensure that job planning/tooling is available to maintain production schedules and machine utilization. 

  • Work closely with HSE Manager to continually develop, implement, and maintain improved safety programs which reduce accident severity and frequency rates as a percent of hours worked. 

  • In conjunction with Quality Assurance Department, in still a quality-oriented attitude throughout the production organization which results in improved quality and reduced scrap/rework rates.


Education & Experience Qualifications



  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 10years relevant working experience in Manufacturing.

  • 3+ years of related managerial experience.  

  • Experience with using MRP/MPS systems. Knowledge of Oracle is preferred.

  • English speaking and writing needs to at a proficient level.

Technical Competencies



  • Thorough understanding of Manufacturing technologies, industrial engineering, and workshop tooling.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste elimination, and efficiency enhancement

  • Knowledge of complex large assembly of products such as Manifold, Blow out preventors, Mud-Pump, Generator, turbines etc. 

  • Ability to develop SOP, technical dashboard further  Implements best practices. 

  • Knowledge of API products is preferred.
