OVERVIEW

As part of McCain digital transformation, we are making significant investments into our data structures and policies to increase the quality of our data, the confidence of our business teams to use this data to make decisions, and to drive value through the use of data.  

We have an ambitious Global Data Governance team, which serves as an enabler to the business teams in our regions and global functions. We are currently recruiting an experienced Master Data Management Technical Process Engineer with strong MDG and ABAP technical understanding to support the governance and quality of Customer and Vendor master data.

JOB PURPOSE

The MDM Technical Process Engineer will follow global processes and leverage global tools to govern data in a way that is consistent and standardized across all regions.  As a member of the Data and Platform Governance team, this individual will implement and maintain data governance strategies, including enforcement of policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures.

The position supports Product - Material Master Data Governance within the SAP S/4HANA environment, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance across the organization. Responsibilities include driving data quality initiatives, developing metrics and reports to monitor data integrity, performing root cause analysis of data issues, and contributing to system design improvements.

The role will also collaborate with SAP technical teams by supporting ABAP code analysis, BADI enhancements, integrations between the MDM platform and S/4 Hana, troubleshooting MDG-related logic and workflows impacting customer and vendor master data.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain master data governance processes from definition through to execution and continuous improvement


• A key responsibility is configuring SimpleMDG modules for vendor and customer master (Product - Material), establishing business rules, approval workflows, and validation logic.


• Implement defined policies and frameworks specifically for vendor and customer master (Product - Material) data governance in the S/4HANA environment.


• Support the implementation of data management, data governance, and data quality tools/platforms


• Support the integration of master data management, data governance, and data quality tools/platforms with target systems like S/4 Hana, Salesforce, and the Enterprise Data Platform among others.


• Configure and support SAP MDG for Customer and Vendor Master, including data models, workflows, validation rules, and approval processes.


• Perform root cause analysis of data issues and ensure remediation according to data governance policies and standards.


• Develop audit and validation methods to ensure quality of the customer and vendor master data using AI-Driven and automated approaches.


• Assist with regular compliance reviews against policies and standards.


• Identify downstream impacts of master data change.


• Ensure proper monitoring of all integrations between the MDM Platform and other systems.  

Technical & ABAP Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret ABAP programs, user exits, BADIs, and enhancements related to Customer master data and SAP MDG processes.

• Support the implementation and enhancement of BADIs and other extension frameworks used in MDG validation, derivation, and workflow logic.


• Collaborate with ABAP development teams to analyze custom code and troubleshoot issues affecting master data governance processes.


• Perform technical analysis of SAP tables, CDS views, and data models to support data governance reporting and validation.


• Support debugging and root cause investigation of MDG workflows, rules, and integration issues impacting Customer master data.


• Work with technical teams to ensure custom developments align with MDG governance standards and best practices.


• Assist with impact analysis during system changes, upgrades, or SAP S/4HANA transformations affecting Customer master data structures

 KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience with data management/governance, including but not limited to data protection and/or data quality


• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, Master Data Governance (MDG) including configuration of data models, governance processes, and validations.


• Experience implementing MDM solutions in multiple organizations.


• Working knowledge of ABAP development concepts, including:




• BADIs and enhancement framework


• User exits and custom logic analysis


• Debugging and code review


• Understanding SAP tables and data models




• A certification like MDG100 will enhance the candite profile.


• Preferred: Experience working with PIM, Data Catalog, Data Governance, and MDM systems.


• Preferred: Understanding of CPG industry specifics — product hierarchies, SKU proliferation, and regulatory data requirements.


• Experience harmonizing systems, processes, and/or data across business areas and functions


• Experience working on an agile team in a virtual, distributed environment


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and participate as an independent contributor with little supervision
