Mechanical Design Engineer

Sheet metal design; Placement of electrical components (Packaging); Cooling systems; Design for a cleanroom environment Hands on experience in routing in cable and hardness. Problem identification and troubleshooting a variety of difficult mechanical problems w.r.t AC Racks/ System Racks, Electronic Racks with limited supervision Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering test reports with limited supervision Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope Lead the mechanical design of AC power distribution units Create detailed drawings, define fabrication processes, materials, and finish standards with comprehensive GD&T, and perform complex tolerance analyses. Plan and execute experiments to validate designs. Perform engineering analysis under general supervision Perform and document engineering tests under general supervision Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines Experience in CAD software; experience with INVENTOR Understanding of CAE software for structural, and thermal analysis. Familiarity with relevant UL and NEMA safety standards. Expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with fast-paced projects requiring innovative thinking. Bachelor's in mechanical engineering with 7 - 10 years of proven experience in designing mechanical components for electrical systems, particularly Control panels Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
