Mechanical Design (Static Equipments) - O&G

Afcons Infrastructure Limited is an Indian multinational construction and engineering company based in Mumbai. The company provides infrastructure services and is involved in the construction of infrastructure projects such as viaducts, flyovers, metros, bridges, pipelines, roads, ports, barrages, oil and gas projects etc.

Brief Job Responsibilities

JOB LOCATION: MUMBAI

• Select, lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of professional Mechanical Design engineers and technical support staff to ensure that Static Engineering is completed on time within budget and as per the set goals.


• Provide proposal support for multiple proposal simultaneously


• Review contract, prepare RFQs for equipment packages, have TQs with vendors, technically evaluate vendors


• Review vendor engineering drawings/documents


• Co-ordinate with project discipline manager to ensure correct implementation of the design for his engineering specialty and co-ordinates the work of engineer with his specialty.


• Prepares and reviews engineering studies, design drawings and documents and material and equipment specifications. Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards. 


• Proficiency in designing of static equipment like Pressure vessels, API Storage Tanks, Heat Exchangers, non-pressure Vessels, columns, OISD Tanks, static packages etc.


• Involve in Pre-comm, Commissioning activities as necessary at site.

Education Qualifications

• B.E./ B Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Computer Software Proficiency

• Proficiency in working on PV ELITE


• Conversant with the relevant international/ local engineering codes and standards. codes and standards applicable to oil and gas and refining industries. (API, ISA, NEC/IEC, NFPA, ASME, IEC etc)

Experience Range

• Minimum experience: 3 to 10 Years


• Strong knowledge and experience in static equipment’s like pressure vessels, heat exchanger (shell and tube, spiral, plate etc), separators, de-super heaters, exhaust stacks, filters, storage tanks etc.


• Detailed knowledge and hands on experience of PV-Elite, HTRI and other static equipment associated software.


• Experience in data sheets, specification, and material requisition.


• Must have thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering practices, economic principles and calculation methods, international codes, standards and specification.


• Mandatory Experience in handling Process Platform Projects of comparable size and complexity in an EPC environment.

Work Environment

• Requires the ability to travel to client sites. Ability to work overtime as needed based on project.


• Mostly Office work and occasional Field travel
