Mechatronics Design Engineer:

As a Mechatronics Design Engineer, you will develop mechatronic system architecture and design novel custom mechatronic systems. This includes the development of complex mechanisms, designing electromechanical actuation systems, and ironing out various supporting subsystems (embedded systems, control schemes, sensor technology selection, sensor development, etc.). Expect domestic / International travel around 10%-15% to support design and development efforts.

Requirements:

The Mechatronics Design Engineer should be able to independently come up with novel solutions to the engineering problems they will be faced with. In this role, you will:

• Design and Prototype Development: Create electromechanical systems for device development, involving the design and prototyping stages.
• Embedded Software Development: Develop embedded software for real-time control and monitoring of electromechanical systems.
• Collaboration and Simulation: Work closely with the engineering team to simulate and analyze control systems, identifying issues and providing recommendations for product development.
• CAE Analysis: Utilize simulation software for conducting Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis, particularly focusing on control systems with mechanical components.
• Design Support and Evaluation: Provide engineering support by analyzing and evaluating electromechanical systems, assessing their performance and feasibility.
• Validation Testing: Conduct feasibility studies and performance testing to validate the functionality and efficiency of developed systems.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate analysis findings, recommendations, and progress updates to stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and advancements, especially in simulation software and casting technology, to enhance analysis capabilities and contribute to process improvements.
• Cross-disciplinary Knowledge Application: Leverage knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and computer systems to create innovative designs, engineer new products from scratch, and improve existing designs with user experience in mind.

• Communication and Justification: Present designs and justify engineering decisions made during the design and development process.
• Technical Documentation: Generate engineering drawings and technical documentation to ensure clarity and completeness in the design process.
• Collaboration with Embedded Systems Engineers: Work alongside embedded systems engineers to develop integrated electromechanical systems, ensuring seamless coordination between hardware and software components.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience with CAD knowledge and (2D & 3D modeling). Proficiency in CAD software and microcontroller programming. Strong understanding of control theory and signal processing.
