Job Description - Medical Coder - E/M OP 2026

Responsibilities

Review and analyze clinical documentation to assign applicable medical codes.
Utilize Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes for IP/OP services.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with all regulatory guidelines and billing requirements.
Maintain updated coding books and guidelines.
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify documentation.
Participate in coding audits and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
Assist in resolving any coding -related issues that impact the billing process.

Qualifications

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.
Proven experience in E&M coding for in -patient and out -patient services.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Familiarity with healthcare billing and compliance standards.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation.
Effective communication skills for provider interactions.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
