Job Description - Medical Officer

Responsibilities:

Provide immediate and effective medical care to patients in the Emergency Department, including triage, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and life -threatening conditions.
Manage and supervise patient care in the ICU, including monitoring vital signs, interpreting diagnostic results, and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, lumbar puncture, and resuscitation in accordance with clinical protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, specialists, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and rapid response during emergencies.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including patient histories, clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress reports.
Participate in on -call rotations and emergency response drills to ensure readiness for critical incidents.
Adhere strictly to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards in all clinical activities.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in case reviews and morbidity & mortality meetings.

Requirements:

MBBS degree with valid registration from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Minimum of 1 year of post -qualification clinical experience, preferably in emergency medicine and/or ICU settings.
Proven proficiency in managing critical care patients, including trauma, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
Strong hands -on experience with advanced life support (ACLS, PALS), airway management, and emergency procedures.
Excellent clinical decision -making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple patients, and prioritize tasks in high -stress environments.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and hospital information systems.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and on -call duties.
