1. Job Purpose :To ensure availability, capability, and continuous improvement of paint shop manufacturing facilities for achieving production, quality, cost, safety, and delivery targets. Responsible for planning and execution of capacity enhancement projects, new model introduction, process improvements, automation initiatives, paint quality and durability enhancement, and paint shop cost optimization. The role also supports technology upgradation and implementation of initiatives to improve paint shop performance.

5. Key Technical Competencies :  
   
   
   
   
   1. Knowledge of automotive paint shop processes including PT-CED, Sealer, Primer, Top Coat, Powder Coating and associated quality standards.
   
   
   2. Knowledge of paint shop equipment such as pretreatment systems, CED plants, spray booths, curing ovens, conveyors, robots and automation systems.
   
   
   3. Understanding of paint chemistry, coating technologies, paint defects, corrosion protection and durability requirements.
   
   
   4. Knowledge of capacity planning, procurement, installation and commissioning of paint shop facilities.
   
   
   5. Experience in process optimization, cycle time reduction and productivity improvement.
   
   
   6. Knowledge of paint consumption optimization and running cost reduction initiatives.
   
   
   7. Should possess understanding of engineering drawings, auto cad and 3D drawing software like Team center.
   
   
   8. Should have knowledge of budgeting, planning and utilization / execution of the same - capital and revenue.
   
   
   9. Knowledge of engineering BOM, manufacturing BOM and Materials BOM.
   
   
   10. Should have knowledge and exposure in implementation of TPM systems.
   
   
   11. Knowledge of MES, Industry 4.0 and IIOT systems.
   
   
   
   


6.  Key Responsibilities:
   
   
   
   1. Plan and execute paint shop capacity enhancement projects in line with business requirements.
   
   
   2. Coordinate hassle-free introduction of new models as per management plans.
   
   
   3. Budget planning and execution for ensuring capacity as per management plans.
   
   
   4. Provide technical support to vendors for improving capacity, quality and productivity.
   
   
   5. Coordinate with MTD (Machine Tool Division) and Automation team to convert manual processes into automation.
   
   
   6. Plan and analyze improvements in line RFT / OEE.
   
   
   7. Provide support to in-house production shops to improve PQCDSM parameters.
   
   
   8. Coordinate with R&D, CD, Materials and vendors for new module development and engineering change implementation.
