Job Description - Motion Graphic Designer

About the job

Company

Together Hospitality

Location: Pune, on-site

CTC: 4-6LPA, negotiable

Experience: 2-4yrs

About the role

The Motion Graphic Designer owns how TH brands move on Instagram. You work across five distinct brands, each with its own visual world, its own audience, and its own way of moving. Elephant & Co does not move like Cobbler & Crew, and neither moves like Juju, Gather, or Izipizi St. You hold all five motion identities in your head and never let them bleed into each other. You think in hooks, pacing, rhythm, and sound, because you understand that on Instagram the first two seconds decide everything. You are formally trained, you understand the principles behind what you do rather than just the buttons, and you bring real taste and real intelligence to every brief. You are fast enough to keep up with a busy content calendar and good enough that the work never feels like it was made quickly.

Requirements

Requirements
Reels & motion content
  • Design and edit all motion-led creatives across all 5 brands - reels, animated stories, motion graphics, title sequences, reel covers, kinetic typography, and any motion asset the content calendar requires
  • Work from briefs provided by the Creative Director and Digital Strategists - execute the visual direction faithfully and bring real motion craft to every execution
  • Build reels with strong hooks, intentional pacing, and retention logic - the first two seconds must earn the rest of the watch
  • Use transitions, text overlays, and effects with purpose - never to show off, always to serve the message
  • Work at pace - the content calendar moves quickly and multiple briefs run in parallel. Turnaround times must be met without compromising quality
  • Iterate on feedback quickly and constructively - improve the work without needing to be asked twice

Communication design in motion
  • Understand the communication objective behind every brief before opening the timeline - is this building awareness, promoting an event, launching a menu, driving footfall, or building brand identity? The edit follows from the objective, not the other way around
  • Apply communication hierarchy to motion - what the viewer reads first, second, and third should be a designed decision, not an accident of where a caption landed
  • Understand how people actually consume content on Instagram - sound on versus sound off, thumb-stopping entry frames, the rhythm of a feed scroll - and design for it
  • Know the technicalities that affect communication in motion - text legibility at small sizes and at speed, safe zones for UI, contrast, how pace affects comprehension, how a cut lands emotionally
  • Use music and sound as design materials, not afterthoughts - sound design and track selection are part of the communication, not garnish
  • Push back when a brief or concept would result in motion that is beautiful but communicatively confusing - you are a communication professional, not just an executor

Brand & motion consistency
  • Maintain a distinct, recognisable motion identity for each of the 5 brands - pace, cut style, type animation, and sound feel that are unmistakably that brand
  • Switch fluently between brand worlds - a moody cocktail bar and a high-energy street-food brand in the same afternoon, without either drifting toward the other
  • Work closely with the Graphic Designer so that static and motion feel like one coherent system, not two separate styles
  • Avoid templated, effect-heavy editing - clarity and restraint over gimmicks. The same trendy transition applied everywhere is a red flag, not a style
  • Keep a clean, organised library of motion assets per brand - project files, presets, templates, and approved elements, layered and named correctly so nothing is ever chased

Motion systems, AI & craft growth
  • Build and maintain reusable motion templates and presets for recurring formats - story frames, reel intros and outros, lower thirds - so consistent production is faster across the team
  • Support onboarding of new team members and freelancers with brand motion packs - anyone producing motion for our brands should have the right references and tools from day one
  • Stay genuinely current with motion and AI tooling - explore what speeds up routine work and what unlocks executions that were not possible before, and bring relevant workflows to the team
  • Keep growing - bring fresh references, study what is working on the platform and why, and evolve your motion and communication sensibility over time

What this role does NOT own

✕  Static design and print - owned by the Graphic Designer. This role designs in motion, not in static layout.

✕  Content strategy and the content calendar - owned by the Digital Strategists. This role executes briefs with craft, it does not set platform strategy.

✕  Creative direction and campaign concepts - owned by the Creative Director and Creative Strategists. This role brings motion ideas that elevate a concept, it does not set the concept.

✕  Photography and primary video production - owned by the Videographer and freelance content creators. This role makes footage better through editing and motion, it does not shoot it.

KRAs - key result areas

1. Motion quality & brand consistency  -  30%

  • All output is on-brand - the correct motion language is applied to each of the 5 brands every time, without drift
  • Creative Director sign-off requires minimal revisions - the work lands close to the brief on first submission
  • Each brand has a distinct, recognisable motion identity - no generic, interchangeable reels
  • Editing visibly improves average footage - the final piece is meaningfully better than the raw material

2. Communication & performance effectiveness  -  30%

  • Every reel has a clear hook and a clear communication hierarchy - the viewer knows what to feel and what to do
  • Content is designed to perform - it stops the scroll, holds attention, and earns saves and shares, not just views
  • The Creative Strategists and Creative Director consistently feel the motion elevated the concept, not just executed it
  • Work is refined with the Digital Strategist based on performance - what is learned feeds the next edit

3. Delivery speed & calendar support  -  20%

  • The content calendar is never delayed because of motion - assets are delivered on time for scheduling
  • Multiple briefs across multiple brands are handled simultaneously without things slipping
  • Quick, clean turnaround on edits and adaptations across formats and aspect ratios

4. Motion systems & asset management  -  20%

  • Reusable templates and presets exist for recurring formats and are used correctly across the team
  • Project files and source assets are organised, layered, named, and findable - the Creative Director never chases a file
  • New joiners and freelancers can be onboarded with a complete brand motion pack
