What you will do:
Produce stories that resonate with audiences across digital platforms
Deliver breaking and developing stories quickly, accurately and at peak audience interest
Edit and optimize headlines, applying SEO best practices to improve discoverability and engagement
Collaborate with reporters, editors and visual teams across beats to strengthen storytelling and responsiveness
Maintain high editorial standards across all published content, ensuring accuracy, clarity and fairness under deadline pressure
Who you are:
Required qualifications:
Proven track record of creating engaging digital video storytelling that resonates with audiences
Proven track record of voicing video stories with tracks that are clear and engaging
Confidence in on-camera presentation, with strong delivery and clarity
Proven track record of producing stories creatively using graphics, effects and other tools that enhance storytelling, to make video stories engaging for audiences in all digital formats, including vertical video for social media
Demonstrated awareness of trending stories and audience engagement signals in real time
Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, such as at least three years of full-time experience at a daily newspaper, broadcast station, online or digital news outlet, or an AP bureau or regional desk
Have excellent news judgment and the ability to make fast, accurate editorial decisions under tight deadlines
Have strong writing skills in English, with the ability to write clearly and succinctly to picture
Be familiar with verification of user-generated content, including reverse image search, geolocation and other tools
Proficiency in video editing software, such as DaVinci Resolve
As AP is a 24/7 global news organization, you must be willing and able to work regular overnight and weekend shifts.
