Job Description: Music Teacher

Role Summary

A reputed residential school in Nainital, Uttarakhand is seeking a talented and passionate Music Teacher to nurture students'
musical abilities and contribute to the school's cultural and artistic
development. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in Indian classical
music, vocal training, instrumental music, and music composition, along with
experience in organizing cultural events and competitions.

Candidates with prior experience in residential schools and
a strong commitment to holistic student development will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach
  vocal and instrumental music to students across different age groups.
  
• Train
  students in Indian Classical Music, Folk Songs, and School Choir
  Performances.
  
• Provide
  instruction in instruments such as Tabla, Harmonium, Guitar,
  Synthesizer, and other relevant musical instruments.
  
• Develop
  students' understanding of rhythm, melody, composition, and performance
  techniques.
  
• Organize
  and conduct music competitions, talent shows, assemblies, and cultural
  programs.
  
• Prepare
  students for inter -school competitions, performances, and annual
  functions.
  
• Compose,
  arrange, and adapt musical pieces for school events and productions.
  
• Encourage
  student participation in extracurricular and performing arts activities.
  
• Maintain
  music resources, instruments, and performance equipment.
  
• Collaborate
  with faculty members to support school -wide cultural initiatives.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• M.A.
  in Music (Mandatory)
  
• Strong
  knowledge of Indian Classical Vocal Music and Folk Music
  
• Proficiency
  in playing Tabla, Harmonium, Guitar, Synthesizer, and other musical
  instruments preferred
  
• Knowledge
  of music composition, arrangement, and performance techniques
  
• Excellent
  communication and student engagement skills
  
• Ability
  to organize and manage large -scale cultural and musical events
  

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a reputed school.
  
• Prior
  experience in a residential/boarding school is highly preferred.
  
• Proven
  experience in organizing annual functions, music festivals, cultural
  programs, and inter -school competitions.
  
• Strong
  track record of training students for performances and competitions.
