NOTL - Team Lead

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyse and plan improvements to Noggin’s products and services, including producing technical designs, estimating effort, test planning, and deployment sequencing.


• Implement and ship improvements to Noggin’s products and services, complying with Noggin’s development standards, procedures, requirements, and timelines for each task.


• Apply testing strategies to ensure that Noggin’s products and services functionally and non-functionally meet customer expectations.


• Provide technical advice to the CTO, Engineering Management, other areas of the business, and to customers as needed; including attending meetings to provide a technical perspective or providing reports and/or documentation.


• Assist other teams with their duties when necessary.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Typescript, Angular, NodeJS


• 7+ years in front-end technologies generally (i.e. Javascript).


• Should have experience in NoSQL Databases (preferably DynamoDB)


• Should have experience in queues (preferably AWS SQS FIFO and Standard queues)


• Working knowledge of building AWS Lambda functions 


• Should have a working knowledge of Bitbucket and JIRA


• Should have experience in integration patterns, such as RESTFul API consumption and development

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

• Knowledge of web-related technologies and protocols


• Knowledge of common web application security vulnerabilities, such as those in the OWASP top 10.


• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies and can articulate a point of view on technologies


• Knowledge of high-availability and distributed systems concepts


• Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure understanding of requirements


• Should have good judgement and decision making skills; responsible and motivated; passionate about learning new things.
