## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe NPI SCM Senior Buyer \u2013 EMS Category is responsible for managing sourcing and procurement activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs executed through EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) suppliers. The role focuses on EMS ecosystem development, agile supply support to engineering teams, fast prototyping and pilot build execution, and global component procurement to meet aggressive development and launch timelines. The position ensures supply readiness, cost competitiveness, and risk mitigation while supporting smooth transition from prototype to volume production.\n\n\"1) Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities \n\u2022 Lead end\u2011to\u2011end NPI procurement activities for EMS\u2011based projects from concept, prototyping, pilot builds, and production ramp\u2011up. \n\u2022 Develop and manage the EMS supplier ecosystem, including supplier identification, onboarding, capability assessment, and performance management. \n\u2022 Provide agile, responsive supply chain support to Engineering teams for rapid design iterations, BOM changes, and prototype builds. \n\u2022 Coordinate closely with EMS partners to support fast prototyping, quick\u2011turn builds, and engineering validation units (EVT/DVT/PVT). \n\u2022 Execute RFQs, cost analysis, and commercial negotiations with EMS partners and component suppliers in alignment with project milestones. \n\u2022 Manage component procurement from global suppliers, including lead time management, MOQ optimization, and logistics coordination. \n\u2022 Ensure timely placement of purchase orders to support prototype, pilot, and launch builds. \n\u2022 Track EMS and supplier readiness including capacity, tooling, AVL compliance, PPAP/FAI, and quality requirements. \n\u2022 Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to long\u2011lead components, capacity constraints, single\u2011source dependencies, and geopolitical or logistics risks. \n\u2022 Drive cost optimization initiatives such as should\u2011costing, VAVE, and alternate sourcing during product development phases. \n\u2022 Manage shortages, expediting actions, and escalation during critical NPI build phases. \n\u2022 Support structured handover of EMS suppliers, components, and commercial agreements to sustaining/plant SCM teams post\u2011launch. \n\u2022 Maintain accurate sourcing, pricing, lead time, and supplier data in ERP and sourcing systems. \n\u2022 Prepare and present NPI SCM status, risks, and mitigation plans in project, engineering, and leadership reviews. \n2) Decision\u2011Making Authority \n\u2022 Place purchase orders and commit to supplier schedules within approved sourcing strategies and authorization limits. \n\u2022 Recommend EMS partners, component suppliers, and sourcing strategies for NPI programs. \n\u2022 Propose alternate sourcing, make\u2011vs\u2011buy options, and supply risk mitigation actions. \n\u2022 Initiate expediting and escalation actions to protect NPI timelines and build schedules.\n\n3) Organizational Relationships \n\u2022 Internal: Engineering (HW/SW), NPI/NPD Program Management, Strategic Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, Logistics, Plant SCM. \n\u2022 External: EMS partners, global component suppliers, distributors, tool makers, and logistics service providers.\n\n4) Key Competencies Required \n\u2022 EMS\u2011based NPI / NPD Supply Chain Management \n\u2022 Electronics and component sourcing \n\u2022 Supplier ecosystem development and management \n\u2022 Commercial negotiation and cost analysis \n\u2022 Agile project and timeline management \n\u2022 Supply risk identification and mitigation \n\u2022 Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills \nContinuous improvement and execution mindset\" \n\n## Qualifications:\n\n\" \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline. \n\u2022 6\u20138 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Strategic Sourcing, with strong exposure to EMS\u2011driven NPI/NPD programs. \nExperience in electronics manufacturing and global component sourcing preferred.\"\n\n## Skills:\n\n\"Oracle R12, \nOffice 365 business tools \"\n
