About the job (Job Responsibilities)

• Lead and drive all procurement activities for CapEx project in India throughout initiation, study phase, pre-project phase, detailed engineering and execution phase


• Lead the development of project procurement strategy and project procurement plan in alignment with the project managers and the site asset managers


• Secure early involvement of procurement and take an active role in the budgeting estimation process

• Working closely with Category Management colleagues to implement agreed strategies locally in manufacturing sites.


• Actively participate within project team in a constructive manner to find the best solutions taking concepts such as Total Cost of Ownership and Landed cost into account


• Provide detailed knowledge of the market and supplier alternatives to the projects


• Drive awareness of supply issues within the project, clarifying business impact and lead resolution plans.


• Develop project risk management strategies and drive development and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation plans.


• Work closely with Project Management to monitor supplier performance metrics and actively participate in the tracking and reporting of said metrics to drive supplier accountability.


• Work closely with essential team members to develop cost reduction strategies and implementation plans that meet project / business needs.


• Report on project related savings monthly as well as maintaining the project savings pipeline.


• Manage the procurement execution against approved baseline and assure compliance against policies and procedures


• Manage engineering contractor in project procurement execution


• Lead negotiations for medium and large projects and set up project specific contracts with


• suppliers including with all relevant clauses, guarantees, etc.


• Work with suppliers and project members to ensure timely delivery of agreed services or products.


• Work with the category managers within the region and others to identify best cost sourcing alternatives and identify opportunities to leverage spend.


• Build project procurement expertise and use as best practices within region also seeking knowledge and inspiration in the external market.


• Manage supplier related risks within the project.

We believe you bring (Education & Experience) 

• Strong exposure to chemical / process industry projects.


• Hands-on experience in EPC/EPCm execution environment.

Good understanding of:

• Mechanical equipment (preferred background).


• Project procurement lifecycle.


• Contract management and commercial negotiations.


• Experience in greenfield and brownfield projects.


• Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.


• Knowledge of international procurement practices.


• Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems.


• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
