## \nCompany:\n\nQualcomm India Private Limited\n\n## Job Area:\n\nEngineering Group, Engineering Group \u003e Hardware Engineering\n\nGeneral Summary:\n\n### Role Overview\n\nThe NPU Synthesis Lead will be responsible for driving synthesis and timing closure for Neural Processing Unit (NPU) IP and subsystems in cutting-edge SoCs. This role involves leading synthesis flows, optimizing for PPA (Performance, Power, Area), and collaborating with architecture, RTL, and physical design teams to ensure high-quality netlists for advanced technology nodes.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n * Synthesis Ownership\n\n * Lead RTL-to-gate-level synthesis for NPU IP and subsystems using industry-standard tools (Synopsys Design Compiler, Cadence Genus).\n\n * Develop and maintain synthesis scripts and flows for hierarchical and flat designs.\n\n * Timing Closure\n\n * Drive pre-layout and post-layout timing closure across multiple voltage and process corners.\n\n * Collaborate with STA teams to resolve setup/hold violations.\n\n * Power \u0026 Area Optimization\n\n * Apply physical-aware synthesis techniques to meet aggressive PPA targets.\n\n * Implement low-power strategies using UPF/CPF flows.\n\n * Constraint Management\n\n * Validate and maintain SDC constraints for clocks, I/O delays, multi-cycle paths, and false paths.\n\n * Cross-Functional Collaboration\n\n * Work closely with RTL design, DFT, and physical design teams for seamless handoff.\n\n * Provide feedback to architecture and RTL teams for QoR improvements.\n\n * Quality Checks\n\n * Perform LEC (Logical Equivalence Check), CLP (Clock/Power checks), and linting.\n\n * Flow Innovation\n\n * Explore advanced synthesis methodologies and EDA tool capabilities for better QoR.\n\n * Team Leadership\n\n * Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices across synthesis and timing teams.\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
